Deck Description

Infect players. Proliferate, proliferate, proliferate. Duplicate (or take) your opponent's big creatures.

Inkmoth Nexus is ideal to be in your hand first to get the first poison counter on your opponent on Turn 2. (One is all you need in slower games.) The Chalice is also ideal to get early (and often), since it will eventually be your main source of colorless mana after several proliferates. (A few Trinket Mages are included to grab those vital Chalices.)

Use Ajani's +1/+1 counter + Vigilance ability to stack on your infect creatures, then proliferate the counters. (Don't forget to bring out the Inkmoth for a well protected 2+/2+ flying infect, as the counters remain after your turn.) Venser works off of your Contagions to re-counter your enemy and untap for more proliferate, or use the unblockable ability to do some massive infect damage to your opponent. Baby Jace is good and cheap for extra cards, and works as a Big Jace killer. (No! No $100 card for you!) If you're in a good creature and proliferate position, don't worry about the loyalty counter loss from the -1 abilities, as you will regain that back and then some.

The deck totally OWNS large creature and slower decks. If you have the opportunity to slow down your opponent, take it, as you will almost always win the more turns you have, especially with a poison counter in play. Take or copy all of the big creatures. Take a game changing Blightsteel for the win. Or take a Primeval Titan -AND- give it infect. Make five Frost Titans and tap everything on your opponent's side. Use the Quicksilver on a weak creature with awesome abilities. Then copy it five times.

It has some weakness against quick kill decks and hoard decks. However, some defenses are available, both in the cards and sideboard, such as: Choking Fumes, the Contagions, extra Tine Shrikes, Spreading Seas. Choking Fumes + Proliferate will eliminate swarms when your opponent thinks he has the winning last attack. Stuff like extra Rite of Replications and Fuel for the Causes really depend on the type of deck your playing against. Two Tectonic Edges and Spreading Seas will eliminate Valakut threats (and the creature copying/stealing will remove the other big threats from that deck). There are no planewalker killers except the creatures and the Baby Jace -> Big Jace kill, but you can easily steal/copy the creatures they generally combo from. (Venser + Frost Titan is popular, for example.)
