Deck Description

ramp controll with difficult to remove creatures to combat the current HEAVY removal metta. this is very cost efficient deck to build & has great matchups vs the top standard decks. It evolved from a haterator into its current incarnation.
***UPDATE***04/24/12
going to try and see how it runs with 1 lesssolemn and 1 additional beast within.

Deck discussion for G/U FNM steamroller

I really dig this deck, man, I can tell it's strong just by glancing it over. Control and big creatures resilient to removal. Great combo.

if you're running mindcrushers
why not throw in more armored skaabs and Auto-Mill tools to complement a Boneyard Wurm / Splinterfright OR BOOOOOOOTH :3
lab maniac too.
It's strange to see SO MUCH blue controllface with such a stereotypical GREEN standard Creature base.

the mind crushers are there because of their fat asses with the addition of difficulty to remove. the mill aspect was just an added bonus. This is not a mill deck, it is an agro ramp deck haterator with a splash of controll.

Hi smn,

Generally like the idea of the deck. Might try slightly different mix of creatures to increase removal and increase general toughness and utility of creatures. Here's my suggestions. See if it works better for you.

+ 2 Acidic Slime
+ 2 Wurmcoil Engine
+ 2 Frost Titan
+ 1 Thrun, the Last Troll

-2 Geralf's Mindcrusher
-2 Strangleroot Geist
-2 Vorapede
-1 Solemn Simulacrum

ty for the imput, but the additions start to remove the meat of the deck. the creatures in this deck are difficult to remove. that was done intentionally to combat the current heavy removal metagame. voropedes are game winners if your opponent does not have an answer. well, 2 answers. strangelroot geists are such an allstar in any deck able to run them.

I would suggest 2 Birthing Pods, and with it some 3 drop creatures like Aether Adepts or Ulvenwald Bears (morbid activated automatically). Most of your creatures dont mind dying, and sacrificing an Strangleroot Geist to find a Bear, the Geist returns (i think) before the bear, for a 5/4 hastey creature sounds fantastic. Then its easier to find things to end the game.

the concept DOES cater to pod. Ill have to tinker with it.

I agree with planestalker, that the solemn simulacrum doesn't seem to fit. I don't see the purpose other than the land fetch. the draw seems to have no plac. Also, I think a second beast within would do well, for ome more removal.

solemn is a great 4 drop. hes a warm body, instant land fetch and draw. thats why all the top ramp decks run him. he is tested and approved. I completely agree with the beast within comment. Im going to find room for 2.

Geralf's Mindcrusher is awful in this deck. You do not benefit in any way of milling your opponent neither milling yourself. I would replace it with Frost Titan ( Same cost, also difficult to remove and taps down a permanent whenever it attacks.)
Also, remove the singleton Blue Sun Zenith for the second Acidic Slime ( awesome support card for green).

Hope it helps. If you have the time, please check out my decks. Thanks in advance

mindcrusher has a fat ass and undying. hes a real problem if theres no immediate solution. been thinking of going down to 2 or 3 of them. and a singleton blue suns is great draw....you dont want it in your hand for a while, thats why theres only 1. ty for the feedback, ill check yours out.
