Yeah that can pose as an issue... Show of Valor might not be so good in this deck. I mean it gives your creatures extra p/t but the +4 in toughness... Isn't so great it can keep your creature from dieing but really your mostly paying for the toughness. I might go to like 16 mana cuz the highest cost is 3 so I think your over what you need for mana.
I was thinking of dropping down to 18 land and running more Fiendslayers (when/if I get my hands on one/three). What would be good for a replacement for Show of Valor? Perhaps I may have it.
Where is mutavault? I think your deck is relaying to much on having open mana. I think that you need to lower the heroic cards and add in good white cards. Spear of heliod? the god? boros reckoner. That's my thoughts at least.
Okay, let me start with your opening question. Mutavault is /useless/ in this deck. It has no place in this deck because it is not going to do anything. If it were a Mono-Black Devotion, Rats, Slivers, or any other deck that relies on particular types, I'd happily run it (if I got them). Secondly, this deck is low-drop for a reason. That way, I do have the mana for Gods Willing or Brave the Elements. Thirdly, "good" is a very subjective term. Phalanx Leader is a good white card in my opinion. Spear of Heliod would be okay, but not very. I mean, it takes away from the aggro aspect. Yes, it gives +1/+1 to everything, but by using that mana to cast the Spear, I could have easily gotten out a creature that can deal even more damage. Heliod is just a no for this deck. Again: AGGRO. Heliod is not aggro. He is defensive. That's the Vigilance. Boros Reckoner I would run if I had more copies of him.Now, I do see the point in adding the Spear, the God, and the Reckoner, but I don't necessarily agree with them, but perhaps I do not see how they would be beneficial. If you would explain how they would aid me in this deck, I may run them.
If you can't understand the power of mutavault then you shouldn't be running him. The type of deck NEED a man land. If you can't see that then find yourself running against decks that will rap with. Supreme verdict will always win against you. With the lack of draw and the lack of sustained creatures you will have a super hard time against creature control or board wipes. I understand your low cost and the reason you want to use heroic as must as possible. However you need to be able to use not just a creature mechanic but a combination of spells that interact with each other as much as possible. Why are you not using auras? That only triggers heroic once but its a consistent within your power level (IE blessing, Ethereal Armor, Gift of Orzhova, Holy Mantle, Ordeal of Heliod) You don't need all the auras but it wouldn't hurt to play something with will ALWAYS help a guy not just a one time. The spear is a MUST, you need something that gives all your guys power and wont go away. Not saying you need 4 copies of them, you should at least play 1 or 2. However this is up to you. The god is just a 1 of as well. JUST IN CASE. Honestly I think that heroic is best used with blue and white. SO many options. I think it would be funnier but that's MY OPINION.
Mhm. I see what you're saying and I am understanding it. Auras are, indeed, a good idea. One issue I come across is actually acquiring cards such as Holy Mantle and Spear and Mutavault. Mutavault is in very very very very high demand right now and I've not the resources to acquire it. I've barely the resources to acquire cards in general atm.I thank you for looking at the deck and giving feedback.
I understanding having a budget. I like to this of this site as a "if i had all the money in the world" type of a site. I think it will be good the way it is but it will be a good idea to look for them if you can. I didn't mean to make it sound rude or anything, please understand that.
I understand. I need to learn to take things with a grain of salt, as the saying goes. I put some of my more successful IRL decks on here (MonoGreen Stompy Stomp, MonoWhite Aggro, Rainbow Slivers Strike Again, etc) along with decks I'd LIKE to build (Red/Black Demon's Fury, Red/White Boros Battalion, etc). anytime. I can always used advise on my decks. If you do look don't look at the modern ones (but mono black devotion cause i just like them and want to make them someday but just don't have money all the other decks i have built from my own brain)

I don't run mono decks... I tired a mono green but I don't have the specific cards I want for it.
fair enough. You can do green/white or black/green. Easy to build and fun.
I actually have one of each of those at the moment. I have to get my girlfriend to trade me some G/B cards to make it better but overall it's not bad. I've not tested the G/W.

The G/W works pretty good, but it's slow for a token deck.
