Deck Description

This is a deck that used to give my friends fits. >) Built using vintage rules and restricions (hence the 1 Sol Ring. That's OLD SCHOOL, baby!) it's at its best in multi-player games, specifically Generals (or Emporer Magic). This is a General deck for sure. The deck is built around Luminarch Ascension, one of my all-time favorite cards. A 4/4 flyer for 2 mana? I can have as many as I can pay for?? Are you kidding me?! Anyway... Everything else in the deck is geared towards protecting you and your enchantments just long enough to hand out a truly EPIC beatdown! There are plenty of tutors to get those enchantments when you need them, and once you have your active Luminarch Ascension that's when you throw down the Gauntlet of Power and the Coat of Arms and just beat face with some HUGE angels! Another one of my favorite moves was to skip turn 1 or 2 land drop so I could pitch Iona to the graveyard...only to Ressurect her on turn 4! (People HATE that!!) All in all, one of my favorite decks to play... it just never gets old!

Deck discussion for Luminarch Ascending

Nice. The Ascension is an awesome card. I played against it in a Modern GW "Turbo Fog" deck. Only reason I won was because I was the one "foging" with my BW Stronghold Discipline deck :p I'm sure I could design a mono white Turbo Fog for Modern, hmmm.... :?

*Think Captain Kirk when reading this*
So you have returned... my archenemy and destroyer of worlds. You're a wretched abomination of all things holy and sacred. You should be cast out of existence along with your creator! But alas you've returned, but know this you no longer hold power over me!

Let me fill in the kiddies who maybe reading this. This deck drove me to complete utter madness and almost out of Magic. However during my stay in the Madcap Hovel for the Clinically Insane, I freed myself of the black vise corrupting my mind and began a quest in the Realm of Janky Decks, to seek out an equal if not superior janky deck...

It was kismet when I stumbled into a land known as Stasis and there I found my answer and regained my sanity! In this undiscovered paradise I entered an ivory tower containing arcane knowledge of the ancient Order of Gix. Thru my research I harnessed the power of Stasis, Kismet and Force of Will...

I then boldly returned to our world which was decimated by this abomination and thru down my gauntlet before it. The battle was long as it was fierce, so much so that the very stars fled the skies. Volcano's formed and mountains crumbled. After the dust settled my rival was still before me but his will of absolute power was denied. Balance and peace once again ruled the land!

If you can't tell I respect this deck and it's prolly the finest, most original I've ever played against. It deserves to be a top deck here but I hope it remains in the shadows for the sake of humanity.

This looks great and rather hilarious. If you'd like to check out my own luminarch deck, perhaps offer some advice, please do. it's http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=352471. Thanks for posting this, it's already given me some cards to add to mine.

Cool deck, Luminarch is a card I've wanted to build around for a while now. I may build a deck similar to this, I'll post it when I'm done.

Moat, his full art plains, and the maze of ith is where the exorbant price comes from. Primarily Moat. All can be replaced. Maybe to a slightly less effective end, but the real price of this deck I'd say is closer to 300 with replacements of the cards I mentioned. Good deck though.

Everyone, check out my EDH deck please. :]

gosh... if this deck had green, I would say add invert the skies, to make the moat even more effective. but tiss not so... very good deck you have here. Normally I don't care too much for mono colored decks, particularly white, but this one I like. :)
