I'm relatively new to magic, so please, if you don't think it's a good idea, ignore me.With Phyrexian Unlife, I believe if damage exceeds your life total, then you still get poison counters, and they stick. Have you considered throwing in Melira, Sylvok Outcast. She's a 2 drop 2/2, who states that you and creatures you control cannot be poisoned. Keep her alive and you may be able to stay alive when a creature tramples your life total down to zero and raises your poison counters up to 10.
