Deck Description

A standard mono-red Goblin deck inspired by Kuldotha Rebirth and some nice beefy gobbies.

The main point is to get out lots of fun little Gobbies out quick using Kuldotha Rebirth on Ichor Wellsprings or Perilous Myrs. After you have a decent amount out, simply wear the enemy down until you can drop a Goblin Cheiftain or 2 and have a decent amount of Battelcry out. A single Concussive Shot should be enough to take down your opponents defense and 1 swing should be more than enough to finish the job.

Comments welcome :)

Deck discussion for Kuldotha Gobbies

Instead of valakut due to the excessive moutains, why not have devastating summons to proc more beefy creatures in a less amount of time.

yeah, u don't want valakuts, and 18 lands is a little too few for comfort, especially with 4 coming in tapped- I'd cut 2 tuktuks for 2 mts, and switch the valakuts to teetering peaks

I would play contested warzone. it is good with kuldotha rebirth. I would also use goblin guides and memnites

Ok, I don't play red battlecry but I do play white battlecry, where is fling? i have pumped many a 1/1 or 0/1 to 5 or 6 quite easily. Many times fling dmg would kill a turn earlier, and few cards offer that kinda direct dmg for 2 mana. I figure if i want to play this card in a white deck, why wouldn't a red deck want to play it as well?perhaps in place of concussive bolt? Good luck.

Okay I really like Fling and will probably put it in instead of something, but instead of Concussive Bolt?!!? What?! Concussive Bolt is an absolutely amazing card that provides the win for this deck almost every time. The ability to all-out swing with a ton of Gobbies with Battle Cry without the opponent being able to block ANY of them is AWESOME :D :D :D

and wait- you aren't seriously playing this deck without any lightning bolts, are you? That's just silly. My kuldotha plays 4 bolts and 4 galvanic blasts- check it out. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=146559

I dislike how red decks always require like at least 8 good burn spells. The point of this deck isn't to kill using any kind of burn, it's meant to build up TONS of Gobbies with a decent amount of Battle Cry and overrun the opponent when they can't block from Concussive Shot. Throwing in Burn would only slow this down. Also, having played mono-red burn decks before, whenever you play red, people are more careful and expect that your hand has Lightning Bolts and such in it. Sometimes it can even stop them from playing their best cards while they wait for you to waste your only burn. Since I don't have any, that will never happen :)

I guess I find an RDW that's trying to get 1 turn kills kind of weird- without any burn they will be able to trade profitably with you in the early game, and you could get eaten alive by a DoJ later on before you set up your win turn with a concussive bolt- burn helps with early game blockers. All in all, I think this deck has an overextension problem, and you disincentivize yourself from attacking early with your plan of building up a big army of battle criers, which I see as a problem. Overall, I would just not play concussive bolt at all- by turn 5 you should already know whether you are going to win just based on your early aggressiveness, which will be reduced in this situation because your lack of burn to deal with early blockers. I'd rather win in turns 1-4 than go all out to set up a turn 5 win.

I would suggest some lightning bolts for just a touch of cheap control. maybe drop the 2 memnites?
