That is fair! It could go either way depending on the current meta but you’re probably right with Giver of Runes being more conducive for our plan of infect swings!
I look at this and think about trinket mage, which can fetch a memnite, ornithopter, colossus hammer, player husk, paradise mantle or shadowspear. There's also a land, "inventors fair" I think it's named, from the kaladesh cycle, which can retrieve a card from the graveyard, but also gives you lifegain.
I mean yea but steelshapers gift already kinda does that for us. For way cheaper and it doesn’t mean we have to splash for blue.

Once modern control decks always had some trinket mage, pithing needle and engineered explosives and "tolarian ruins" I think it was, or ruins of tolaria. Academy ruins?Anyways it stopped a lot of decktypes.
