The highlight of the deck is Isochron Scepter, with three imprint options: Geth's Verdict, Funeral Charm, and Dash Hopes. Geth's Verdict, although slow, can stall aggro while slowly finishing a game or prove troublesome for decks the go big (like amulet and tron); Funeral Charm (when activated during the opponent's draw step) locks out all non-instants; and Dash Hopes simply makes all resolving spells cost five more life. GBx decks are a problem for Isochron Scepter, and even with mana left up for a single activate in response to Abrupt Decay, it is not good in the match up.Second to Isochron Scepter is the pair retrace spells (Raven's Crime and Syphon Life). Discarding extra lands to retrace can create additional 1 for 1 trades or grind down the opponent's life total.Lastly, Suffer the Past and Vampire Nighthawk serve flexible roles. Suffer the Past can simply disrupt a graveyard related play (such as a Snapcaster's flashback) or be an instant-speed burn finisher, but will likely be cast somewhere in between. Vampire Nighthawk can be played for pressure after some disruption in hopes of not being answered but can also be played in hopes of trading with a threat that goes otherwise unanswered.
