Deck Description

*** BUILT ***

- Deck Concept -
Force opponent to draw and discard to death

How to Play

- Deck Tips -
Keep the cards flowing with Howling Mine and Forced Fruition.

Perplex for counter spell or use its transmute ability to find Underworld Dreams, Web of Inertia or Megrim.

Using Jace's Archivist in conjunction with Underworld Dreams, Liliana's Caress, and Megrim, you have the possibility of doing tons damage.

Teferi's Puzzle Box screws with everyone's hand and does damage each turn if you have Underworld Dreams out.

With Psychic Possession out, you can keep you hand full and not worry about Teferi's Puzzle Box screwing with your own hand.

Remove graveyards with Leyline of the Void & Tormod's Crypt.
Since your opponents have no graveyard, no one can remove the 1 card for Web of Inertia, therefore no one can attack you with creatures.

Deck discussion for Megrim Dreams

This is a cool concept. I'd use Liliana's Caress over Megrim though since they cost one less to cast. Or, potentially use both and drop the Web of Intertias.

Notice that Megrim is worth it's additional mana, while it's mostly situational, Megrim deals damage to that player. Lilliana's Caress makes them lose life. Difference? While damage dealt can be prevented, it can also be redirected to damage other planeswalker.

This deck is very similar to a deck I have based on just underworld dreams. The biggest difference is that I run a lot of counterspells in my deck. The one that works really good is perplex. It can let you play it to counter a spell or you can use its transmute ability to go get your Underworld Dreams, Megrim, or anything else that has a mana cost of 3. If you want to take a look at mine, here is a link:

Kyle I think this deck is boss and it should have 300 likes personally. I've played against this deck, and I thoughth I was godly at magic until I played this. The only possible thing to make this remotely better would be to switch the megrim for the caress, and get some better dual lands. That is the ONLY things. This deck is dirty.

I love the fact that there are 2 caresses and 2 megrims because perplex can search for megrim. Having the two different spells also helps against someone who sideboarded nevermore type cards.

I definitely like your deck idea! Looking at your deck reminded me of Teferi's Puzzle Box and I'm thinking of maybe trying to include some into my black/artifact deck. What do you think? Any feedback is appreciated!

nice deck idea.looks like a slow roller though. web of inertia is the only thing keeping you alive, if that gets disrupted or destroyed or your opponent has a creatureless strategy your not looking so hot.
i do really love the theme and what your doing with this deck though.
very cool stuff.
the numbers all look pretty night, i cant imagine changing it up too much.

You have to drop Megrim for Liliana's Caress. Two reasons. One Caress is cheaper. Second Megrim deals damage while Lilana's Caress makes opponents lose life.
Right now this deck is a glass cannon.
I would consider dropping some of your graveyard hate. If you want to make sure people cant attack then use Propaganda. Also consider cards like Reckless Scholar.
Finally I think that surgical extraction could work really well in this deck or hypnotic specter

Good point about damage dealt vs life loss, only reason I keep Megrim over Lilana's Caress is the fact I could search for it using Perplex's Transmute ability.

I like the graveyard hate for Graveborn decks(there was a Eldrazi-Graveborn deck in my Meta) and of course to exile my opponents graves so I can use Web of Inertia to keep them from attack me or stop any other graveyard based shenanigans.

Propaganda would work for this also, however it is not as much of a lock as my lockdown, however my combo requires 2 cards vs. just Propaganda...

I was trying to keep this deck completely creature-less however when i found Jace's Archivist i found her ability too good to pass up....

i completely overlooked the Transmute. I would go maybe drop 1 megrim and 1 forced fruition and add 2 caresses. I dont think you need 3 forced fruition since it has such a high mana cost and you will be drawing a lot. By the time you have enough to play it you should have no problem having 1 even if you have only two.

I don't think that this is necessarily the top deck but it is definitely a scary one. The one problem that glares at me is that this deck doesn't get rid of the opponent's cards quick enough and protect itself at the same time. Add a card named traumatize to utterly destroy half the opponents deck for only a 5 cost blue. A deck that gets rid of the opponents faster than any I've ever seen would be this one

Fascinating deck. The combat lock us great. Only suggestion might be spellbook and Geth's Grimiore, for some card draw. Overall, this is a great deck.

Memory jar does pretty well for this kind of deck
Also I would run 4 caress
Jaces archivist is great and all but since your run 2 creatures he is just a removal target, suddenly thier useless doom blade has a use
Forced fruition is not really that good for six mana you already should be ahead
Duress or the other one (which removes creatures or walkers I don't remember the name) would be a solid add

Amazing synergy of cards. Love the web of inertia, tormod's crypt combo. You can add other grave exiler cards like curse of oblivion and carion beetle. Actually, this deck is perfect by itself. Hey check out my deck if you have the time.

Honestly, I am not really sure. As a web developer myself, I don't quite understand how it would have broken....

I've experienced sort the same problem... ...when I go to "deck comment inbox", or to front page, some my decks show less comments, than when I enter them... ...as I see it here, spyfellow has about 31 comments here above mine & it showes 28 instead... ...so this is quite different, than what my decks looked like...

Hey!!! Comment count was fixed. :). This deck still looks good. Oh, and you can't transmute for the caress like you can the megrim, so there are advantages and disadvantages to both.

0

Yep, pretty exciting, the counter has been broke for a while, and I understand the advantages and disadvantages to both, which is why I do have both.

0

Yeah. Personally I like caress a little better, but the fact that you can transmute for megrim makes a huge difference if you start out slow.

This is a very slow working deck. Without the perfect hand, opponents running aggro will be hard to stop.
Stopping aggro would require a starting hand with Leyline of the Void/Tomrod's crypt, web of inertia, a dark ritual and at least 1 of each colored mana. Keeping in mind that's only to stop aggro from getting to you early on.

I'll definitely try this deck out though. I do like the concept.

Check out the Anvil of Bogardan for this deck. Same cost as howling mine, but with an added bonus of making this discard. The only downside is they have no limit to hand size.

Consider Reliquery Tower, its a colourless land but it gives you no maximum hand size, which is always a good thing with the amout of card draw in this
