Jund Midrange

A fairly typical Jund Midrange deck based on cards available from Magic 2015 Duels of the Planeswalker with all premium, expansions and card pack.

The deck uses low curve Elvish Visionary for draw and early blockers. Satyrs are used to mana fix and populate graveyard with cards for return. After the first few turns some mid cost creatures allow a more robust defence and threat in their own right and the Graveborn Muse provides additional card draw. The board is stabilised with good removal with Ground Assaults able to handle bigger creatures and resounding thunder for both early and late removal or finisher with cycling. To keep key cards available both fetch via Rune-Scarred demon or graveyard return with treasured find ensuring key cards can be returned. Sheoldred should be played carefully when most early removal is played or following mass removal to start returning creatures and keeping opponents off the board. Use the monstrosity effects to good effect and handle flyers. Some cards are very useful situationally like Shadowborn Demon. The upper curve provides good effects with life gain and trample from the wurms. It plays very well in both single player and multi player matches.

The sideboard is non Magic 2015 but are very good cards for different deck matchups. Griselbrand may be difficult with mana requirement and the 2 Karrthus of Jund anti dragon deck. Kaervek works for spell heavy decks and Soul of innistrad can substitute for Sheoldred effect. Pernicious deed and maelstrom pulse are good for certain deck types. Finally violent ultimatum is really a finisher and can help in end games to remove key permanents but mana requirement means it cannot be relied on but if in hand early satyr and cultivate can help ensure the mana.
