Atarka deck plays like Gruul (who da thunk it?) which means big creatures, big burn spells, and mana ramp.
Trying out a bit of an experiment here with a much higher mana curve than I'd otherwise usually use. I'd like to think that between Whisperer of the Wilds, Hardened Berserker, and Frontier Siege you'd have enough mana ramp to ramp you quickly up to 5 mana per turn allowing your main creature to be the Stampeding Elk Herd. Savage Ventmaw (a very overpriced 4/4 flyer) gives even more mana to help with countering and that last little push up to get out the Foe-Razer Regent and Atarka, and honestly I can't say that a 4/4 flyer sounds wimpy to me even if I DO have to pay 6 FREAKIN MANA FOR IT.The rest of the deck (pretty much) is removal either as burn in Sarkhan's Rage, and some odd misc ideas in pretty much everything else. If you need a little more early game presence, sub in the Lightning Strike for some cheap (but ever efficient) burn, though with that said, if you've got the cashola you may want to try to put in a few more dragons (*cough* Thunderbreak Regent *cough* *cough*) and trust in the greater burn potential of Draconic Roar.
