Damage your opponent directly while gaining life through extort, and if you can get your opponent down to a single card in their hand, Shrieking Affiliation piles on the hurt. Even if you can't get them down to a single card, it puts pressure on your opponent to not play too many cards, gaining you a little bit of tempo. You've also got some reanimating potential for late game.
