Deck Description

The Regents are coming. In all their glory. And all their horror...

How to Play

Still a little unsure about the balance of sorceries/instants. Pretty sure that the 3 Crucible of Fire is the way to go even though the deck does hit that nasty 61 count. The need for land is too heavy to drop one of them and Crucible is too strong to leave out. But...

And if that weren't enough, what to do with the rest? Naturalize should clearly be sideboarded, but the combination of Anticipate/Deflecting Palm/Mindswipe/Ultimate Price gives you a great deal of control potential, perhaps enough to make up for the other deficiencies? Or ought some of the sorceries/instants selection be switched out to make room for Rattleclaw Mystic/Elvish Mystic/Kiora's Follower??? Decisions decisions...

As for how to play:

1. Dont' die
2. Drop Regents
3. Squish things
4. Practice your evil villain cackle

Deck discussion for The Regents

I mean, Dragonlord's servant is fine, but if it's just for mana acceleration, you might as well use Rampant Growth or Into the North (with Highland Weald) instead, because it will also help with Mindswipe and Crucible of Worlds. Or you could use Dragonspeaker Shaman, who reduces Dragon costs by 2.

Oh Dragonspeaker Shaman and I are well acquainted as I have four in my mono-red dragons deck. Should never have gotten that deck partly because I spent far too much money and partly because I've made people cry...

One piece of the goal for this deck is to stick within the Tarkir block if possible. As you say though, since Dragonlord's Servant is there for mana ramp and since it's 5-color already, I would be better off with the Rattleclaw Mystic by far. Sometimes I doesn't think enough.

Outside of thunderbreak and icefall, id cut the other regents to one each. Add 4x Shaman of the forgotten ways or whatever from dragons of tarkir if that's the theme. Consider See the unwritten from khans to "cheat" big creatures into play. Throw some atarkas in there too.
