Deck Description

Started off as an EDH idea: What if Szadek was commanding and he pumps himself up to 20/20 or greater. You realise that the target is painted on your face. As your opponents conspire to take you down before you mill them out, you swing a couple of dudes. They're too busy worrying about your 40/40, so they let the dudes pass. And bam, shift all of Szadek's counters for a knockout.

I definitely don't have the money for an EDH deck, so I decided to work backwards, and hit the crux of this idea. Essentially, this sort of strategy is not Dimir at all, rather it flows more with Simic. Adding green to a blue-black opened up many more opportunities, especially the prospect of hitting with Golgari flavour - tidbits of grave play scattered around. (Well, that's the 'revolutionary' part - that the height of Simic evolution must involve drawing strength from the dead)

Then I found that Necrotic Ooze exists. Everyone knows the Gilder + Kraj combo. Necrotic Ooze turns any card in a graveyard into feedstock for Kraj. And finally, everything fell into place when I cracked open Corpsejack Menace, Lotleth Troll, and Jarad's orders: Feed your graveyard, restock your hand, and pump creatures to oblivion. Perfect, considering that almost every deck I come up with has some form twisted tutoring - if anything, that's the Dimir inside me.

And my mana curve looked a-ok. Except that for my main strategy to take off, I'd need at least 4 mana, with all my sure-finishers being late game creatures. Well, anything's possible with a bit of green ramp, or with a bit of Gilder + Everflowing Chalice.

I desperately wanted to add a bit of Proliferate, or a bit of Wither, or a bit of anything else that required counters (Azor's Elecutors anyone?) but the deck I've got here is pretty tight-sealed as is. Any suggestions for card substituions would be greatly appreciated. Just nothing that sinks my wallet a la Doubling Season.
