Deck Description

Don't mind the sideboard just cards I was thinking about..

This is my mono white edh deck created me just throwing together some of my favorite cards in magic cards (regardless the cost ;) )This deck is very control heavy, however it should never win the same way twice (built purposely so). I personally like to make Avacyn my commander however you have the ability to switch it up. Any "constructive" feedback or general compliments are much appreciated. Thanks and have fun! I'm a big stickler on mana curve as you can see...

Deck discussion for BEST MONO WHITE EDH EVER!!

Nice I built my mono black EDH deck similarly by grabbing my favourite cards. My suggestions/opinions would be to add more mana acceleration. Caged Sun is better then Gauntlet of Power since it wont potentially help your opponent even tho it costs 1 more to play. Extraplanar Lens is another great mana accelerator in a mono colour deck and along the same lines Burnished Hart has been surprisingly helpful.
Happy Casting :)

I'll definitely try out your suggestions on my next Friday night magic game. Thank you so much for your feedback ??

I have a mono white commander and I can saw from experience that you need both caged sun and gauntlet of power. with the higher curve your deck has I would say you need both. My mono white has a mana curve of 6 being the highest and i only have a few of them and it is still hard sometimes to get the mana I need. I LOVE extraplanar len in this type of deck. Where is Kor Cartographer? He is great. Also where is Solemn Simulacrum?

If you want to take a look at my Mono white commander look here.

Heh, yea I think its well off too. I've been playing casually for many years now. There are some "tweaks" that can be made, but as it sits now it works very well in my weekly EDH. The only two issues I sometimes face is everyone "attempting" (attempting is the big word here ;) to gang up on me and very situationally I sometimes need some more card advantage. When this happens I go more defensive and buy time by side-boarding things like Norns Annex, Kismet, Ghostly Prison, etc. for card advantage, I might play one more card like Skullclamp or Mind's Eye. But one of the reasons I love this particular deck so much is that every hard I draw I absolutely love, can't put a price on that.

Everything looks pretty good. The only thing I'm not sure about is Kemba. You have a decent number of equipments, but I feel like the chances of drawing Kemba AND enough equipment to make her worth it is low. Your mileage may vary though. You've been playing the deck, so maybe she works for you when you get her. You don't have much mana acceleration, but that's ok because, surprisingly, you've kept your mana curve fairly low. With all of the bombs you have in here I was surprised that your curve drops so steeply after 4. Still seems like it would take a while to get Avacyn out, and most opponents would likely be saving their scalpel spells for her by then. Though you also have plenty of other juicy targets that likely pull a lot of attention. Maybe by the time you can cast Avacyn, they've already had to use all of their answers on the rest of your stuff.

I see you mentioned that card advantage is sometimes an issue. Scroll Rack might help with that, especially since you have Land Tax. Those two together are amazing. Land Tax is an extra 3 cards per turn, and after you drop your land for the turn you've got extra lands you can trade back into your deck for 2 more "draws".

Hey Raizeldragon! Got some strong advise here... Thing about Kemba, it was totally just a "i love this card" thing... And I've swarmed opponents a couple of times with the 2/2 cats from Kemba and 2/1 clerics from Heliod of course along with things like honor of the pure, spear of heliod, dictate of heliod, True Conviction etc... to make um like 6/6 double strike life link creatures, however you are correct super situational, tonight i'm gonna try and run Angelic Arbiter instead. But yes you caught on to one of my strategies here which I call "look at this hand, not this hand" A lot of the creatures are pretty damn good, to make opponents use removal/counter/sacrificing early on... hopefully burn through that for a clean Avacyn cast. After that I hope to bring some back with Emeria, the Sky Ruin. As for mana, A lot of people worry about it however it never is a problem with Weathered Wayfarer, Land Tax, Tithe, Sensei's divining top, Pearl Medallion, Sol Ring ,Gauntlet of Power and as you pointed it out mana curve is low. Mind's Eye worked well recently but your card draw approach is awesome, I really want to try it out. Thanks dude for your advise.

Great add, I love the survivability factor of that card, cause of the boomerang factor. Thanks.

Any deck with Avacyn needs Homeward Path, and if you haven't needed Homeward Path yet it's because they people you're playing are too dumb for you to need to play Avacyn to beat :)

IMO any deck running Land Tax probably should be running Scroll Rack. It's a good card on it's own, but Racks/Tax is almost too good a combo to pass up.

I fully agree with doctorhydrogen on both accounts. Homeward path is great in the format with or without Avacyn. Scroll Rack was also suggested for the same purposes before by raizieldragon as well. They simply have to much synergy not to be played together.

I don't think Homeward Path is necessarily an auto-include. I don't run it in my Drana vampire tribal deck for example, because I'm not too worried someone is going to take her because they'd need black mana to pump her up and she's fairly easy to remove if so. Plus the deck functions just fine without her.

Avacyn though? A stolen Avacyn turns the tide from you having a 8/8 hard to remove evasive beatstick who makes your entire board indestructible to losing all of that and giving all of it to your opponent. That's a massive swing that effects every single thing. Being able to solve that problem by tapping a land is invaluable.

Very true it's not an auto add to every deck.

Heh, Totally correct on all accounts... Love your feedback doctorhydrogen. Considering I have a EDH Lazav, Dimir Mastermind deck thats concept is coping or taking other creatures I should know better. Luckily I have BOTH cards kicking around, now if the scroll rack / land tax combo happens I will give you a shout out lol.

Also, in the interest of disclosure; part of the reason I'm such a fan of Homeward Path is because I used to run Avacyn in my Sigarda deck, and two games in a row I lost her within like ten seconds of her hitting the board and lost the game to her both times. From that moment on Homeward Path and me have been bros.

Glad to see Crackdown in this deck, it doesn't get enough play imo. I've sent it absolutely shut down some people.

I think the one more mana on Banishing Light is worth it over Journey to Nowhere since it lets you also hit artifacts, enchantments and planeswalkers.

Personally I'd run both AND Extraplanar Lens on top of it all. But I'm a greedy bastard.

Nykthos would probably do good work here, too.

By the way Homeward Path is absolutly nessesary in commander deck to stop bleu and red ``OP Cards`` like ``Insurrection`` ,`` Harness by the Force``, ``Zealous Conscipts``, ``Vedalken Shackles``, ``Charisma``, ``Bribery`` and or anchant control cards like ``Control Magic`` , ``Corrupted Conscience`` ETC....

Oh and try to put your ``Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant`` as commander, trust me !

``Kemba`` good to but you dont have enought equip artefact in this deck unless you put all equip artefact in your sideboard and more...!

Yea, I added that homeward path and its already saved me twice. And my friends don't allow me to play Rune-Tail Kitsune Ascendant anymore after winning so many times.
