A good suicide black theme can run vampires. It'll be a little weaker, but it can run a couple dark depths and decent search.
There is that famous combo: Image crafter + Callous oppressor = free creature + voidmage prodigy = counter without sacrifice I prefer: treachery over abduction sigil of sleep over temporal adept.
Nettle Sentinel, eladamri lord of leaves, elvish vanguard, a talara's battalion, Wren's Run Vanquisher are all good warriors and rancor is always good for green beats

Ancient Tomb makes this so much faster and the 2 damage is nothing for a lifelink theme
I have yet to face lifelink. I think of this as a very old school suicide black with new cards that keep to the theme. Jittes would be a well rounded choice. Hmm. Okey.
I thought that, too. But the speed of the deck seems pretty solid. It's a theoretical deck cuz I don't have the bitterblossoms, but I've tested it with proxies. It's been good to me. I would have to remove the all powerful hymns, while a chump block's worked well. I'm considering a noggin whack.
Nah. Bloodghast is suck in my humble opinion. Guul Draz is a 3/2 evasion for a 1 drop. It's nasty.
I decided against the zombie jz now. I haven't yet test played this, but it looked like I needed more life gain.
