Discard your own creatures and revive them at lower cost, destruction and controll spells should insure your survivability early game. The Draw and Discard ability is a great way to put your expensive creatures down and gain some new cheap cards for you to use. Remember, the point is to burry your big creatures to revive them at lower cost.
