Deck Description

I'm sorry about this one.

How to Play

Ramp into one of many, many options to screw your opponent over. Sorcerous Spyglass, Pithing Needle, Phyrexian Revoker, and Academic Probation all shut off your opponent's cards, whereas Thoughtseize and Sadistic Sacrament stop those cards from ever being a potential threat in the first place. Silence is incredibly obnoxious but can get you out of a rough spot. The rest is just ramp.

So, zero win-cons? This is a deck that literally cannot win if the opponent let it ??

There's a thing called beatdown, and another thing called a clock.

Phyrexian revoker is a slow 10 turn clock, meaning that you kill with it in 10 turns.

There's a large part of magic players who are dedicated to this kind of slow kill.

Look up the weissman school of magic

The deck is toxic because a smart player knows he's dead, but he will still cling on to the game, just hoping he catches a break which he usually won't.

When decks like this reaches a certain level in competitive play people usually rage quit after they identify the deck.

Well, isn't Mana Crypt too risky for such a slow clock? Then if an opponent puts a couple of creatures on the battlefield Crypts would get you I guess along with Brass and Confluence ??
Thoughtseize is gone from what I gather. I normally really go for these kinds of decks but I stick to modern

I'm at modern to, and has been wondering about the three sol rings
But the overall strategy is pretty obvious.

I've seen adnauseam decks start to go aggro with simian spirit guide when their combo is gone.
Won't see that for a while though...

The deck still needs some alterations so it's legal somewhere. It appears off vintage or legacy atm

Kicking sadistic sacrament is a bit of a wet dream of mine tbh...

I met a guy whose deck was made of all extraction cards legal in modern, and he had a lot of swamps as well and said he kicked it frequently.
It included discard to get the stuff in the graveyard.

Now we've got Coffers but it's still a late game play that doesn't deal with the board... these decks struggle against good midrange, I made a deck with all discard as well, Crypt Incursion is the only thing that can keep it all together but it's not always enough.

Have you tried a pinch of reanimator in it?

It'll take delicate balancing with Crypt Incursion which I consider a must but it would be a weak direction against control decks, right? Perhaps you have stronger game against control anyways.
Do you have any links for good discard decks on Vault? I struggle to find anything decent tbh

Control can usually be dealt with through an attrition gameplan.

If my memory serves me right, user: theswarmer has always liked to design his decks around pox strategies.
He's been through orzhov, loam, rack builds and other stuff.

But you have to be carefull with discard, as there is a split in the game which sometimes make inquisition of kozilek weak.

True, that's when having unilateral discarding becomes less painful. I'll check him out, thanks man :)
