Deck Description

I've made the argument multiple times before that, if done correctly, Naya can be loosely considered Stompy. I then realized that I had never posted up my "Naya-Stomp".

******Let me be perfectly clear. Naya in my opinion can, IF DONE CORRECTLY, be Stompy-like. This does not mean that Naya is Stompy (yet...more and more people are starting to say it is!). I won't label this as Stompy or list my other Stompy decks until/unless Naya is accepted as the first multi-colored Stompy sub-type.*******

Enjoy!

Deck discussion for A-Naya-lation

Love the name! Now my feedback:

Knight of New Alara and Reliquary??? I Don't personally think they fit. I would have thought behemoth sledge personally...

And what about Spellbreaker Behemoth??? for 4 mana you get a 5/5 that can't be countered? I think thats just awesome.

And possibly lightning helix?

I do have mixed feelings about Reliquary, but he has his uses. knight of New Alara is a no-brainer. Drop him turn 3 after a turn 2 Woolly Thoctar and that fuzzy monster goes from a 5/4 into an 8/7! He also turns any of my 2-drops into 4/4's! Yeah, if he were a 3/3 that would be great...but it would also be a bit OP. =]

Spellbreaker is great sure, but I don't actually have that many creatures that BEGIN as 5/x so it doesn't help them...still might try it.

Lightning Helix is cool, but not a card for a deck like this.

behemoth Sledge costs too much, plain and simple. I've always thought it was a lame card. =/

I might take out the Reliquary for the Spellbreaker. If I do that, it'll give me more 5/x creatures to make it effective, and it will help improve Mayael's Aria.

Alright, tried out Spellbreaker in place of Reliquary and holy piss I wish that thing were mono-green. It's like Terra Stomper but GOOD! =]

Thanks!

How about Mycoid Shepard. A 5/4 for four that allows you to gain life when you big dudes die?

Might sideboard him for specific decks, but otherwise I gotta stick with Spellbreaker. =]

I like what I'm seeing here. I mite just try make this for myself :P only problem is getting hold of the lands and BoP's :(

Wouldn't it be the Noble Hierarch harder to get??? Its way more expensive :P And the lands are a bit on the expensive side, most are about 10 bucks or more. I'd just buy 2 of each gateways (which are slightly cheaper and you don't need 4 of each really) and then basic lands (or 4x of the naya land)...it almost always solves my mana problems (AND they are extended legal :P)

Yeah...I loved to use this deck back when I had the old version of it (before Adventuring Gear and Infiltration Lens) and it was still legal. Damn that was fun. Still is fun, maybe more so now =]

I thought you weren't making any more stompy decks? :P

I'm not really =]

1) I made this during Alara block

2) This is technically not (yet) a Stompy deck

3) I will be making an Infect-Stomp once the MBS cards are loaded up here.

I can't believe how fast this deck made the upcoming...I saw it posted about 5 hours ago and it doesn't even take 2 hours to get to 30 likes...and its 45 now??????

I'm not suprised to see this reach upcoming (and now front page) so quickly. I think it's because of the glitch in the Like system.

Glitch? =/

Ja. I'm not too sure about it, and whether or not it's been fixed, but apparently there's a glich that adds likes to the deck just for people commenting.

That's not a glitch. That's supposed to happen. The idea was that a deck with a lot of conversation must have something worth noticing/talking about.

Very very clever, but not quite clever enough.

I told you so.

About the actual deck, its a good idea, but you are missing key Naya cards (Real Naya isn't Stompy).

KoNA is NOT the best choice here, look at the Shadowmoor Lords instead. New Alara is better on paper, but being a 2/2 means you play it and it dies.

Vengevine+Fauna Shaman is a big part of what makes this deck rediculous. KotR is actually amazing. A Naya deck uses KotR to fetch ETBT lands such as Sejiri Steppe for key tempo shifts.

Kitchen Finks is another amazing 3 drop in this deck that you are lacking. Along witht he Fauna Shaman, Naya also runs 1-of a few 1-drops to tutor for as the moment requires. Scute Mob, Harrier, and the Forge Mystic are the most important ones.

Naya is the ultimate utility deck, curving out at 4 and playing <4 spells so that BBE guarentees
Vengevine Recursion. Good as the creature pool is, the best Naya decks can in no way be concidered Stompy.

Note, don't take this as critisim of your deck, but rather an explination of what a Naya deck really is. Since my Atlanta PTQ, Naya is my favorite extended deck. I have not posted a decklist because I am working on perfecting my build and don't want it to leak before the next tourniment.

Vengeshaman Naya isn't Stompy, you are right. But it really is an apples to oranges sort of thing. Besides, if I'm going to abuse the hell out of Vengeshaman, it's going to be Jund...and I did that =P

<_<

Don't judge me...(I have a problem)

Looks like one of my deck, except I use Knotvine Mystic and Steward of Valeron for mana. Very nice deck

Nice deck I love the change in theme on it. IF I could get some critique on my casual deck it would be MOST appreciated.

I made a deck like this over a year ago and made almost all the same mistakes.
KoNAlara and aria's are all too slow. I used the knight with the three colour two drops, hushblade, hackblade and thoctar. I ended up dropping the knight because they were faster without her, go figure.
Nicer to play two more two drops or thoctar and a buff than a knight of new alara. I had to figure that out by play testing. Maybe it's the metagame here, but she loses me speed every time I play her.
I took the ancient zigg out of my old deck because I liked to run a few utility spells, but I may put it back into my idea of nayan stompy.
