Deck Description

I was pretty impressed with the new shrine that can spew out Myr, but I would have had to greatly overhaul my other Myr deck to make it work. Sooooo, I am going to try it out here.

Deck discussion for Fear the Myr

i like it, but seems a tad slow, like most myr decks. is there any way you'd slip in green for a few birds/elves? i'm sure they'd speed the deck up quite alot.

I've certainly considered it, and might make something for it...

This is always my issue with myr decks that and card draw. I wanted to do more of a UWG to kind of round it off. Color hardly matters when the base of the deck is colorless.

Alot of good cards to help out myr decks from the new set. I will be redoing my battledome deck to make it standard

Pristine Talisman, War Report and Alloy myr to name a few. Sphere of the suns + Contagion Engine in testing seems to be very helpful

You may try running Mirrorworks to make copies of your myrs as you drop them,
or Symblance Anvil to reduce the costs of all your creatures.
I've noticed your elf decks, would you mind checking mine out?

try adding frantic salvage to return your shrines after you sac them for tokens,
rinse and repeat.
I'm a big artifact player myself, try checking my U/W myr deck to see how you can run them with symblance anvil and mirrorrworks

Life gain prolly isn't what your looking for but I feel like leonin elder could add a lot to the deck for when you sac your shrine or suture priest which I guess adds the same functionality and more for just 1 more mana.

Hey, really great deck, but have you considered putting in a heavy arbalest as another win condition besides Tempered Steel and battlesphere ? It could do an infinite combo with the correct conditions.

Also i would suggest adding 2 myr turbines. Lets say if you could get 5 or more myrs by turn 5 with loyal legions, you could get a battlesphere onto the battlefield instantly :).

Do check out my UG infect deck too, thanks :)

i like the combo of Myr Superion with Prototype Portal. putting a 5/6 down for only 2 mana each turn is pretty ridicules and no need for the palladium to be on the field.

what's the difference of having 4 more plains or arid messa

Fetchlands in a mono-colored deck help thin out the deck and give it semi-frequent shuffles. Think of it this way: Two identical decks played by players of identical skill with identically good hands have a match against each other. One of the two decks differs juuuust slightly by having 4 Arid Mesa in his deck.

What's faster of the otherwise identical decks? The one with 60 cards or the one with (sort of) 56 cards?

As surewhynot explained, what a fetch land does is thin out your deck a little. You still have the same probability of drawing land cards in the beginning, but as you use the fetchlands, you pull normal lands out of your deck and put them in play. This helps to prevent mana clogging later in the game, because there won't be as many lands still in the deck.

I would suggest some culling dais. It both allows card draw, makes chump blocking less wasteful, and of course, can combo with the sky ruin.
Or a carnage alter, which works nicely with a mana loop.

For a little more white to make the shrines go faster, I would recommend Apostle's Blessing. That card has saved my creatures from a lot of annoying removal.

I like to throw in Myr Turbines and Mirrorworks in these kinds of decks. Some people are prepared to kill a myr galvanizer in a moment's notice but not always ready for 2 to pop out
