Deck discussion for Pizza

i think yu can really go at lilliana's 1st ability with this deck then kick her off, maybe grim affliction would provide some early removal and add a counter or 2 to lilliana that bit quicker, you know i'm gonna drool ova any deck with bloodghasts and vengevine in right ! ?, whats latin for pizza ?

by the way mate could you take a look at my snapcaster mage for rage deck.

also you recently asked me if i played edh ?, ive just been invited by a pal to build a highlander deck ?, not more than 1 of any card are we talking about the same thing ? he said it should be 100 cards but weve kept to 60 to try it out, if so its an intresting format and i may post the deck

good deck s always but then you know that mate lol.

Haha, Pizza. Nice. Overall this looks solid but I've greatly surprised by the lack of Verdant Catacombs for the mana base.
Other than that, I've never been a huge fan of (especially maindeck) lifegain with no other relevant abilities so I'm not too sold on Gnaw to the Bone. Beyond that, this looks like a sick deck. I'd maybe replace the Gnaws and maybe something else for some sort of removal and perhaps a dredge card like Golgari Grave Troll or Life from the Loam if you change the mana base to incorporate more utility lands or something. Looks fun, though. I'm liking it.:)

Thanks man. At first, I didn't like the idea of Gnaw either, but once I tried it, I was shocked by how much life it can actually gain me. Simply put, the card provides a HELL of a lot of life gain, and with an aggro deck, that adds a whole new level of threat for the enemy to deal with. Honestly not sure why I forgot the Catacombs lol, thanks for reminding me =]

I tried out Loam, and it didn't work as consistently for me as the more straight-forward Mulch (an original to the Filth design). As for removal, the disruption from TS as well as Liliana (who is freakin amazing btw...holy crap man) provides a nice supply of removal, etc.

Oh, and Fluff, just gimme the link and I'll take a look (links save me a LOT of searching time) =]

It's been years, and this remains to be one of two things that instantly come to my mind when pizza is mentioned... COWABUNGA DUDE!

This is a pretty neat deck man, but it seems a bit depressing for the vengevine aspect :/

Eh, I was a bit on the fence for Venge too, but it sits nicely to round off my curve and the haste gives me that extra bit of "in-your-face" aggro. In addition, for the price of one Venge, I can play the two-creature requirement for the recursion! All in all, the deck is fast and fun =]

The name is staying as Pizza now because of you man. I already wrote it on the box it's going into (with the 'ceremonial' deck-naming marker!)

While true, I'm just concerned by the low number of 1cc creatures in the design. I've never even felt safe with them in the Jericho design :/

Also, huzzah for nostalgia!

So, jw. How's Zombie Infestation working out so far? It seems like a neat card, but I just hate the idea of having to discard two cards for a 2 mana 2/2 (i mean really, that's what it comes down to in a way). :/ I realize if any deck, this may be the right one for it, but I'm wondering if you've tried/considered another option instead? Even Fauna Shaman seems reasonable (albeit a tad slow). Regardless, I'm curious what you've thought of it thus far.

Oh, and I just did a quick sample hand which made me notice another thing - why do you have Tree of Tales and Vault of Whispers in the deck? I'm not seeing their actual benefit in this build over Forests and Swamps - instead, they just are bad with Woodland Cemetery (as the sample hand pointed out to me).

Fauna Shaman=The dogs balls in filth, it makes them so versatile it's sickening sometimes, and gives a feeling of playing faux survival.

I might swap over to Fuana...you make a good point =]

The Artifact lands are to boost Goyf a little bit more...Might take them down to 1 each though

Oh, I see. Missed that interaction with Goyf. :/ Derp. Haha.

Yeah, if you ever see a non-affinity (or similar) deck with artifact lands, chances are they're running Goyf and cheating in a little extra punch =]

I've swapped out Z.I. for Fauna as well as dropped to just 2 art-lands. Fauna adds more consistency to the whole design, where as Z.I. can be used as fuel, but REALLY needs a steady supply of draw power to be completely worth it...and I don't want to make this BUG. If only Z.I. required 1 discard...

0
Posted 06 October 2011 at 17:43

Ha, if Z.I. only required 1 discard... it would be soo broken! And if it somehow stayed at the same rarity, can you imagine games of limited with this type of thing!?
Turn 1 Land. Turn 2: Land, Z.I. "I win!"
But yeah, Z.I. would be sick with just 1 discard. Funny how that one extra card makes it go from insanely overpowered to hardly playable short of a small variety of decks. List is looking sweet, though.:)

The change over to Fauna is insane. Wumps always told me they're "abusive" for Filth...now I know why =}

Also it's surprising how adding a 4th Mulch makes such a difference =]

Hey Sure, I'm not trying to be picky or anything but why did you deciede to put in Bitterblossom?

I just noticed the "Tribal, enchantment, faerie" to boost goofy and I guess for some 1/1 flying defense/offense?

really nice deck btw

0

Bitterblossum is just a nice fast and efficient (and consistent) supply of extra aggro. It's also useful in Filth because it does help me beef up Goyf, but it also like I said provides consistent dudes which can continue to press the offensive even in times where I have a lot of crap in the yard...

just had to bump onto the front page.
now, this deck looks crazy fun. i like the arti-lands with goyf - never thought of that one. to be honest, i dont realy know what to recomend. i'm not a big fan of boneyard wurm because it doesnt become better than grizzley bears till turn 4 or so, but i can still understand it's power. while we're on the topic, maybe dryad arbor? you can drop a land for it, and it boosts the elemental (it should be a scarecrow) and the wurm. if anything, -1 wurm, +1 tarmagoyf.
and this is giving me an unearthly amount of ideas........

Dryad Arbor would actually be kinda sweet, I'm thinking if you also threw in some GSZ! It actually fetches every creature except Bloodghast from this deck!

Hnng, I'm hardly a player for anything out of standard but Aether Vial seems really viable in this build. The 14 2-drops you run scream it. The only thing I can see that's not great about it imo is the fact that it's not casting them to feed Vengevine.

OH, dryad arbor as it's a forest that can be fetched with Verdant Catacombs but is also counted as a creature in the yard.

loooks like a fun deck, i love early game aggro
aether vial is a must with all these same casting cost creatures
though ive tried drawing a couple hands and it seems you have allot of creatures that have p/t equal to the * in your graveyard, if you have nothing in your graveyard then you cant play those creatures or theyll just die
effectively that is your aggros only weakness

ive designed a 3 turn mill cloc deck (though it is just casual so theres cards that are banned but im sure it could be modified)
could you draw a couple hands and tell me what you think?
Lim-Dul's Vault is petty much my favourite card for this deck
