WooHoo! I was worried I wouldn't be able to match the great number. 24/4/8/0/4/0/2! =]

I like the infiltration lens. nice touch. I don't know if the adventuring gear is worth it though.

The lens leads to some hilarious things, such as drawing into more pump-instants to dump into the trampler that it's equipped to. That said, the Adventuring Gear is absurd. It trashes people.

what about garruks packleader or garruk himself

Nah, both are too slow, the Packleader being the slower of the two obviously.

yer gessed as much just though i would ask packleader would give u some card draw mid and late game but i gess u dont want it to last that long

Yeah. More over it shouldn't last that long. Plus, Infiltration Lens is way better for card drawing.

Why have I never heard of Scute Mob??? I'm stealing this card for my green stompy deck. I dont see why you dont include Garruk... turn 4 play and untap two lands, turn 5 everyone gets +3/+3 and trample... thats what I call epic

I'm glad you like the Scute. It is really good. Now Garruk...You need to have him played to get 2 mana back. 4 mana for 2 mana and a possible (actually pretty likely) total bust? That's wasted mana right there. He's good, and sits snug on the edge of stompy/non-stompy...but in my opinion leans more towards non-stompy.

I like this deck... defiantly not too high costing for a green stompp deck and i love the Scute Mob in it. But what do you think about adding Explore to boost the power of landfall or adventure gear in this deck?

Eh, explore isn't very Stompy, neither is Cultivate. Harrow is amazing because it IS stompy and land acceleration. With those and the fetchlands, I have plenty of power behind that stuff. =]

These decks are amazing! i see that stompy revolves arround green alot...to be honest, this is the first time i've heard of it. but it's awesome, do you think you could build a good infect deck? i have one already but i dont think its that great....

Well, I was thinking of making an Infect Stompy if there are the cards for it in the upcoming sets. So far, I'm not satisfied enough.

You should.. i posted an infect deck for standard but it needs more to it. though it's good when me and my friends play every man for themself with 3 people, single play is kinda slow and 2 headed giant it blows.

Well like I said, if the next few sets offer some better options with green and infect, then I might try it. It's also a little bit complicated to figure out whether or not something has a Stompy-like efficiency with infect thrown into the equation.

I hope that the next set does end up with enough infect cards like that so that I CAN make an infect Stompy...that would be crazy. =]

Stompy seems sweet, lol, but in regards to the sideboard, why kozilek?

0

Mill decks. Stompy is obviously aggressive enough to usually tear these decks apart, but on the other side, the sort of reckless headstrong way of playing that Stompy has can make them vulnerable to those faster mill/control decks. With Kozilek in, they have next to no chance to win =]

so im building a somewhat similar deck just without the landfall element. Biggest problem is turn 4 wrath of god on me. I'm also deathly afraid of pyroclasm in turns 1-3. Also, you might consider nest invader. He's like basically a 2/2 for 1 mana with some added versatility. Finally, the only win condition i see is overwhelming stampede, garruk wildspeaker is a much more reliable and versatile option than that imo.

Overwhelming Stampede is overkill to be honest. Trust me with that one. Garruk is a weird dude to me...he can be argued to be both Stompy and non-Stompy, and both arguments make perfect sense. x_x

Nest invader is totally Stompy, no question about it. I've thought about using them before, but just never did. =/

Why nature's claim instead of naturalize?

Because that one mana can make a HUGE difference against control and/or prison decks. Plus, it's frickin' Stompy! Who cares if they gain 4 measly life?

this is great. the overwhelming stampeed goes good with it.

I'm going to, for the most part, steal this deck lol, just to see how it stomps (no pun intended) my buddies. Gonna make some changes though. I personally prefer giant growth to groundswell. But other than that I think you can assume I like this deck :) surewhynot, I formally thank you for introducing me to stompy :) it's a sexy concept that suits my personality.

Hehehe, you're very welcome. As I've said before, one of the best compliments I can get is someone saying they're going to blatantly rip off my deck =]

And trust me, your friends will **** themselves. =P

I have a question: you obviously put a lot of thought behind your decks, so I want to know what the reasoning is behind not putting in Birds of Paradise. Considering that it's flying, in combination with Groundswell / Primal Bellow / Overwhelming Stampede, it would seem to me that it's worth not having the 1 power for 1 mana golden rule stompy decks tend to employ in this particular instance, no?

To be perfectly honest, because I flat-out forgot to use them XD

Thanks for the reminder, and yes...in a case where it's a mana producer and provides flight defense/aggression, the loss of power is acceptable.

Nice deck man, I played Stompy years ago when Pouncing Jags, Albino Trolls and Overrun were in their hay day. Just getting back into MTG I decided to throw this deck together from the "affordable" factor. I grabbed all but 1 card for just under 40 bucks, that one card being Verdant Catacombs, do you have a good substitution for this card? Just getting back into the swing I'm not really interested in spending 10-15 bucks each for 4 of these, doubling the price of the deck overall. Thanks.

To be perfectly honest, the deck will run just fine without them. They only increase the speed of the by a small margin, but since I already had some, it was an obvious choice for me. Really, if you want to save cash, they aren't necessary at all.
