Deck Description

Standard type 2 mill deck. I figured that nowadays in standard play, mill decks haven't really been a part of the meta. It's time to change that.

The side board was designed to combat the only known (as far as i know) type 2 threats that could potentially shut this deck down.

Nihil Spellbomb: Helps me permanently exile the Eldrazi titans (Emrakul, Kozilek, and Ulamog)
Redirect: For quick burn decks
Disperse: For first turn "Leyline of Sanctity" drops.
Wall of Frost: For the green/ red/ white weenie decks.

After playing this deck in several "Standard" tourneys it usually wins against the following decks:

G/R Titan Ramp with Valakut
Mythic Conscription
Soulsisters (and most varients thereof)
Dredge-Vine
Mass Polymorph
"Super-Friends"
U/W Titan Control

The only deck that is known to consistently give this one a tough time/ dominate was:
Jund.

Deck discussion for Unbeatable Mill

Personally, I would splash black solely for Leyline of the Void. It's the easiest way to get around the return effects of the Eldrazi titans. Also, maybe add in some fetch lands for double crab hits (If nothing else, Terramorphic, so you can possibly fetch up some black mana). And maybe Jwari Shapeshifter, to make add in some more ally mill, even if it's not always effective.

Good, 6.0/10, solely because I think adding the black can make this that much better.

I actually took out the Jiwari shapeshifters (they used to be included in this deck) only because they seemed to be too conditional. Often times I would play entire games without getting a single Halimar excavator out (they ended up being useless). When they work, man... they WORK. but when they don't, they are useless. Too much of a gamble IMHO

I thought about going black but the thing about splashing black is that i would have to essentially water down the control aspect of blue. (getting a black mana when i need blue) I wouldnt be able to counter as fast.

I'll definitely throw in the Terramorphic Expanses, i hadnt thought about the double Hedron crab hit.
Thanks again for your suggestions!

Not a problem! I do suggest atleast adding the Leyline for black. There's enough U/B dual lands to make it effective so you don't lose your blue mana sources, but you can effectively add the black so they can't counter mill you.

Also, Nihil spellbomb can not counter the Eldrazi titans hitting the graveyard. Their effect will take precedence over the spellbomb, I believe, and the graveyard will be reset.

Actually when the Eldrazi dies, they first resolve to the graveyard then their ability goes onto the stack. If i then sack my Spellbomb in response to it dying, it's ability goes on the stack and resolves before the Eldrazi's ability resolves. This causes the graveyard along with the eldrazi to be exiled. Next on the stack to resolve is the Eldrazi's ability, but, since it has now been exiled, it fizzles.
