Deck Description

Dragon themed 5-Color EDH deck with Scion of the Ur Dragon as the commander

How to Play

Straight forward play, the object is to get a land drop engine started between all of the landfall cards available then drop all your dragons on the field. Keep your hand full with all of the draw cards.

Starting with a hand loaded in land is key, especially if you luck out and get one of the landfall cards with them.
It is not uncommon to have 10 or more lands out by turn 5 or 6 making it very easy to get all of your high priced dragons onto the field just as fast as you can draw them. Use the draw cards to keep your deck moving, the landfall cards help clean out the land quickly as you draw it making it that much easier to fill the field with dragons.

Worldgorger coupled with the board wipes amount to an immediate momentum shift. Especially when you can pull a mana geyser for 16, drop the Worldgorger to protect your field, then play a decree of annihilation. If you have Prophet out he also becomes a flash speed answer to any other players board wipes.

Valkas and any of the token producers turn into very big threats very fast. Broodmother is especially nasty since she creates a dragon during every players upkeep.

Maximize your revival cards. Remeber Volrath's Stronghold can be used during your upkeep before you draw giving you back the exact dragon you need at that moment. Reviving Bladewing the Risen doubles the effectiveness of the revival card. Teneb is also a good target for revival though he is more expensive, and conditional than the stronghold. Use Scion to stack the graveyard before casting one of the mass revival spells.

While not ideal and mana intensive, turning Scion into Scourge of Kher Ridges can be the answer to many an annoying creature.

I agree its not the ideal list of dragons (you work with what you have) but the deck is insanely fun. Tons of mana, drawing lots of cards, just enough graveyard shenanigans, and dragons everywhere.

infinite draw and damage combo, didnt even realize i had it in there until i actually played with the deck. Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Curiosity/Snake Umbra = draw out and kill anyone. It just needs a draw trigger first turn out or Niv needs Haste. Coupled with "Learn from the past" you can easily wipe out 4 other players. Add a Feldon's cane to the deck and up that limit to 7.
