Deck Description

How much more simply can I put this?
It's a werewolf deck. Nothing special, really.

Do note that I was encouraged by a built deck on the front page to make this. I can't remember the user's name, so i'm sorry that I can't give you full credit for this.

The main reason why I'm making this isn't to show off, but more-so for some helpful suggestions.

[Before Edit] - I do not have any Huntmasters of the Fells, because I do not like him. I find that Mayor of Avabruck does tokens better, and Mondronen Shaman does burn better. I also don't like that the best way to fully use its abilities is counter-intuitive to the normal Werewolf stategy (keeping them transformed).

I include Garruk Relentless's because I have them, no other reason. I'm sorry for gloating, but I've opened 3 of them, and i don't know which deck to include him in. Also, no one wants him :(

[After Edit] I got rid of both the Huntmaster and Garruk and replaced them with Assault Strobe.

I have (and want to keep) Fling in this deck for last-stand parts. When I've attacked with a superpowered Instigator Gang and my opponent has only 3 life left, the worst thing is when I lose the next turn. The reason why I'm saying this is because I'm not sure if it's standard "protocol" to include Fling in werewolf decks.

Deck discussion for Werewolves

I would add in some Wolfbitten Captives and/or Reckless Waifs. they basically come down as werewolves if they come down turn 1.

Ive never liked the Shaman, cuz a vanilla 3/2 for 4 mana didnt feel good (although her flip side is really good). But if youre cool with her and make her work, awesome.

Personally, im cool with the Flings, but Beast Within is a great removal spell that would solve a lot of problems from planswalkers to enchantments. Not saying you should replace the Flings, but consider throwing in a couple Beast WIthins.

I am kind of the same on Wolfbitten Captives! I don't like the fact that they can't be pumped more than once. I suppose it's to make them more fair, but...

Beat Within, huh? I think you have a good point there. That might be something to add as a versatile destruction spell. I'm not sure what to take out, but I'll think about that.

Thanks for your feedback!

Also, the worst/best think has happened: I just opened a Huntmaster of the Fells :(. I threw him in without taking a card out, just so you know.

IMHO: Huntmaster is still a 5/5 Trample creature (w/ Immerwolf out) for your opponent to deal with that already just hit for 2 and possibly took out a blocker of theirs. I feel as though Huntmaster, while great as a human, does not fit as a constant flip in werewolf decks. Werewolf decks should not constantly flip. I would be playing token decks if i wanted to win with tokens he produces and i would splash white in for lifelink if i was concerned with gaining life. His human side admittedly does not fit the "smash" theme. His flipped side is all i'm after in the end. In a werewolf theme, I just want to beat someone's face in. Try an Assault Strobe on a Ravager of the Fells w/ Mayor of Avabruck, Instigator Gang, Immerwolf and HotF's wolf token out and all attacking. Argue otherwise during a doublestrike/trample monster attack that you can fling after. >:D

That said, Assault Strobe may also fix losing to an opponent left at 3 life. You've just made you're "superpowered Instigator Gang" extra superpowered for the attack and then Fling FTW. Anything else you have in the deck already makes him a hard hitter or difficult to block, why not make his already superpowered charge double? Looks like a well rounded deck otherwise. I apologize for imposing my firmly held believes of Huntmaster upon you, lol.

Pft... if you think you're imposing, then I'm not playing with the nicest Magic crowd :P.

Thanks for the suggestions! Assault Strobe does seem like a great addition to this.

Do you have any suggestions concerning Garruk?

He's a decent fit. I see benefits and I see drawbacks.

Both sides benefit from Mayor (Transformed) and Immerwolf in that when he produces his wolf tokens, they're coming to the battlefield much larger then by himself. In addition to that he produces a means to keep him defended long enough to have him make use of his bottom ability on the flip. The trouble lies with finding a creature to knock that won't also kill him with all the bonuses to wolves/werewolves in mind... You're suddenly relying on your opponent's creatures to facilitate this. You'd have to play the bonuses to wolves/werewolves carefully to do it yourself.

He has the potential to both complicate or catalyze the course of the game.

Furthermore. The wolf tokens produced, being larger and preventing his flip, do not benefit from some key cards in the deck. Full Moon's Rise and Terror of Kruin Pass only affect werewolves and with only two Pyreheart Wolf, the odds of them being able to touch your opponent diminish. The wolf tokens become more of a defensive play rather then an aggressive one. You won't catch me complaining about a 3/3 or 4/4 wolf token (possibly w/ deathtouch) sitting at my defense however. Overall, he may actually be slowing you down in a competitive aggro beat-down format. For casual play, he will definitely be something to have fun with.

I threw out Huntmaster and Garruk from this deck(not literally) and replaced them with your suggestion. Again, thanks. Out of respect, I'll check out some of your decks.

Out of all of the cards in this deck, they were to least specific. They are good, but not as good as some other card that may not be as good elsewhere.

I'd sure appreciate any input you have to offer if you do happen to browse my decks. I'm new to the site and can't believe this was not suggested to me sooner. I've only 4 of 5 decks I have assembled posted that are standard.
