Deck Description

WELCOME BACK TO HYPER BUDGET!
Decided to challenge myself; Build only decks that remain below $15, contain no rares, CMC 3 or below, no SB and could be used at a FNM with moderate success.

Today we have probably my favorite color combo U/B; We have a Dimir deck here, rogues sneaking in damage, ciphered spells messing with your opponent and decent board control.

How to Play

Control board and then drop a "unblockable" or two. Utilize you Cipher onto the "unblockables" or Keyrune to really mess with you opponents board/deck. Cool thing about Keyrunes is that the Ciphered spell remains attached even after he no longer remains to be a creature.

702.97c The card with cipher remains encoded on the chosen creature as long as the card with cipher remains exiled and the creature remains on the battlefield. The card remains encoded on that object even if it changes controller or stops being a creature, as long as it remains on the battlefield.

Unless you are keeping it Modern, try "Glimpse the Unthinkable"

I don't even know, I have played U/B the most since I started playing a year or so ago, Innistrad/RtR block. I played a U/B Invisible Stalker/Vamp. Nighthawk Runchanter Pike deck that was super good, lots of removal and counters so I try to keep that as intact as I could with this budget deck.

hmm...So with Dimir, the way they work is by making their creatures hard to block.

That is the way I have always played them, but the first creatures I saw when I got back into MTG was Invisible Stalker and Harbor Bandit so I immediately build a U/B deck that I fine tuned for 6 months until Standard changed. You can play Dimir a multitude of ways as you can with any guild, just find your preference and go hard in the paint!

btw with hidden strings, what use can it have after youve ciphered it? All I can see it tapping 2 creatures with it but that doesnt mean anything when it only triggers after damage.

Really nothing, didn't think that decision through I guess.... You could splash in some of the new BotG Inspired creatures to get use out of it that way or you could just add in something more useful :D

On a side note Hidden Strings is really good in Heroic Decks.

Here are the guilds I have posted currently, working on Gruul and Orzhov atm.

Needs more draw. I recommend either divination, read the bones, or both, whichever you're comfortable with. Also counterspells. Since you're running hidden strings, the best target for it will most likely be your lands, as they shouldn't block your stuff anyway, and if you have more low cost draw spells and counterspells then this mana will not be wasted.
