Deck Description

WELCOME BACK TO HYPER BUDGET!
Decided to challenge myself; Build only decks that remain below $15, contain no rares, CMC 3 or below, no SB and could be used at a FNM with moderate success.

Tonight's deck is a Mono Blue and falls into the category of Mill.

How to Play

Get the walls out and bricking your opponent at every opportunity; Doorkeeper and Millstone for a slow grinding. In the past I try to avoid blocking with Doorkeeper in the event of a follow up burn, but sometimes it can;t be avoided. Lockdown even more with Claustrophobia and Runner's Bane (You could also run Agoraphobia as it can be returned to your hand).

Hehe Fun idea :P Almost pauper :D
It Will take for ever however, and would come up with anything that can counter or destroy the Mill stones/Door keepers.. ><

Also, I'm not sure 21 lands is enough, you want to be able to cast a wall (or other spell) as well as mill with the stones and the door keeper.

But whenever someone tries a Mill deck, I'm all for it, one of my favorite types of decks :)

Heh, it's Standard too. I'm in favor of Divination somewhere in this deck.

I know right, he was in my original mono blue deck that I ran before rotation. 2 weeks I went 2-2, almost going 3-1 one week but made a really stupid play that in the end costed me the game.

How about Thought Scour??
In my opinion better than Divination cuz its cheaper and helps you mill

While I do like Thought Scour, actually I love that card, it is not standard right now; now if there were to be a reprint you could guarantee I would find a home for it!

I know you stated Mono-Blue in description but maybe splash of Black? Instead of Divination, Pilfered Plans to help the mill a bit?

I think I like Omenspeaker over Murmuring Phantasm so that you can filter out unneeded cards and still get something of a wall out of the deal.

Can I suggest Flipping to Blue/Black... Breaking // Entering is very strong for 2 Mana... even in a Mono blue if you have a Dimir Guildgate you could be effective. Between Tome Scour and Breaking your killing them... get a Jace out and its over.

I love milling and discarding decks. I used to run a deck I lovingly called "Buttplugs". It relied on the combo of Megrim, Warped Devotion, and then cards like Washout, Recoil, Unsummon, etc. I had so much fun just taking people's decks and cramming them back up their arses. lol

I really like this deck, one of my friend loves mill and play's it creature-less for like 1 - 2 mana cost cards. Its not a budget but if it works for him. This 2 and a half dollar deck really squeezes it but for a mill modern with sixty cards? Props to you!
