This is my current EDH deck that I've built from the ground up. Design wise its a tribal human deck, based mostly off of the Innistrad blocks, with the angelic protectors of the plane. The entirety of the deck is based on ensuring that your creatures survive each onslaught, be it by the buffs they give each other, the angels that off protection and support or simply by the individual hero creatures in the deck. Overall it plays a medium aggro build levels out at about mid-game and typically goes long. Can't beat what you cant kill so to speak. Early game-play revolves around passively building up your own forces and protecting them. Once you have Sigarda, Melira, the Bastian Portector and a few enchantments out you are basically home free. I'm still looking for effective ways to add more anti board-wipe cards to the deck to maintain my board state lead.
