An idea I had while running my deck umbrella corp at FnM. But I feel like there's somthing better than fiend hunter as always comments and suggestions are always welcome and apreciated. So I'm taking a poll. The last spot in my deck is three cards. Creature slot. Three choices. Doomed traveler: combos with mentor, pox, day, titan. Auramancer: combos with titan, mentor. Grand abolisher: combos with titan, mentor, and messes with control. However, if anyone has any suggestions for the last slot your more than welcome to imput them. Suggestions don't have to be creatures.

You know I honestly didn't know they reprinted some of this stuff. I might have to try my hand in this format one more time.

So after playtesting a bit I think I will swap fiend hunters for relic warders.
I like this deck alot. Smallpox rules. I would say use Doomed Traveler. He combos with everything and can trigger mentor twice.
Congrats my friend only the brave ones dare to seriously play with smallpox, I would say that you add a couple of mana producer artifacts that are not creatures to mittigate the land loss also shorten a little bit either the rites or some of the expensive folks to add more discard to support the smallpox. And as personal belief Cementery Reaper will have more synergy in this deck than mentor of the meek.
Actually the mentors are there for "fishing" purposes, comboed with the infestation. Which pulls titans and rites to the yard and I get my titans for 4 mana rather than 6. Lili is there to supplement both my yard and the sm. Pox. As well as creature control my only real fear with this deck is inferno titan. So really the only creature that won't hit the yard before the field is mentor. If I add reapers I won't get my draw which is essential for the deck to pull out the beaters. But I do see your point about the hand disruption. But I'm stuck on wether to run despise or distress and if I do decide to go that route, since those kind of cards are 4 of cards what one card do I pull.
Man I guess I was not seeing the big picture, you are right Mentor helps you with the fuel and search your big buddies maybe culing dais could be a less vurnerable option to that small creature with the draw back that you will have to sacrifice creatures(maybe before a doj or each turn you sacrifice the skelleton and return for 2 mana?) to draw cards. Regarding your question of what to take out for including more discad I would say your single Gideon, 1 grimoire, 1 Mentor, 1 o- ring Turn 1: Swamp you play Horrifying revelation to discard a rite and hopefully a titan from the top of your deck Turn 2: Land, you play sphere of the suns Turn 3: Land, play the rite Titan is out :)
Actually while your suggestion is a good one. despite the weakness the mentors are the best card draw for this build. And I don't really care if they die because I. Have ways to bring them back "*cough* titan"
