Deck Description

My group of players has gotten to the point where we can't really justify shelling out for cards with reckless abandon. Bills and other boring 'grown person' stuff hamper the spending on colorful pieces of cardboard. Plus we don't need the unnecessary strain on relationships.
Queue the Budget deck series! Every month or two we shell out 20$ on a deck and fight for dominance just like the good ol days.
Much to my chagrin, turns out budget is kindof a thing on the vault! Other mtg players are growing old just like we are!
These decks are made strictly for multiplayer, 4man+ free for all, no boring 1v1 lockdown nonsense. There are politics to be played and faces to maim. Rivalries and alliances rise and fall from turn to turn. Because of this, the game is slowed a notch, more expensive cmc's are viable, after all, nobody wants power seat too early.
We don't care about ban lists, modern, standard, type 2 or whatever.
As always, these decks are open to suggestion, nothing is concrete in this game. Unless otherwise stated of course. ;)

How to Play

Abuse the +1+1 counter mechanics as best you can. Gyre Sage for mana generation, falkenrath exterminator to remove those pesky chump blockers, and swing for the fences with your hydra or dragons. Guildmage to move counters where you need them. Need more mana next turn? No problem. Blockers a little on the wimpy side? No problem. Counters work just like real estate. Location, location, location.

Deck discussion for RG Counters

I really do miss having a lot of friends around who all play. Multiplayer is always so much more fun. If/When I get a good group to play with I'll definitely come ask for some advice if you don't mind.

Definite +1 from me.

Advice about multiplayer is kinda hard to give.. it all really depends on the playstyles of your group members. For instance, a friend of mine is really easy to manipulate into doing my bidding. He just doesn't know it. Which is why it's perfect. I don't mind being his Gepetto and traipsing his cards around the field like some kinda screwed up god's blessing. Here's how it works.

The guy (Hereafter referred to as friend B) pays a lot of attention to nonverbal cues, he's obsessed with figuring out people's "tells" as if this is a poker game. And he's right, in a way. The problem is, since I know that's what Friend B is looking for, I'll play into his hands. I make it not so obvious that I see a large threat from Friend C's field. Don't say anything, just kinda look at it and frown, check your hand, act like you're doing calculations with the other guy's mana, as if you know what combo friend C is trying to pull off. Small frown again, as if to say he can do it. Friend B will almost assuredly Destroy Friend C's "threat". And when Friend B does, don't laugh, look relieved. But keep it small and subtle.
I've been playing magic with this guy off and on for 10 years.
