Deck Description

So this brew is built around abusing temur ascendency. As usual heres the cards breakdown.

Birds of Paradise: Ramp is incredibly important as this deck needs to splash colors and have access to them a lot. You also don't get punished as much due to your insane card draw engine. In that same vein we have:

Noble Hierarch: All three colors are relevant and its another dork to power our ascendency speed.

Burning Tree Emissary: Read pay RG get a Myr Superion it can be nasty but its generally just good for colors.

Frost Walker: An underwhelming creature that gets insane when you make it cantrip and give it haste, that being said its probably your worst ascendency creature.

Ghor Clan Rampager: A finisher rarely are you ever casting this creature but you can if you have to and it triggers off ascendency.

Hooting Mandrils: A great creature that we cant run more than two of otherwise it becomes a really dead draw as we cant realistically fill our grave fast enough.

Imaginary Pet: A workhorse that's hard to kill does a lot more work than you think.

Myr Superion: The all star, in this deck he is horrifyingly easy to cast and he eats siege rhinos goyfs anf tasigurs for a snack hes your best beater.

Vexing Devil: They are going to pay the four especially if you have the ascendency out so you have to think of this card as R deal four damage to target player and really that's prettttyyyy guuud.

Gllitering Wish: I cant express how much I love the wish cycle I adore this concept and design space and I wish wizards would use it more. That being said this card isn't just in here for show in reality it is ascendency 4-7 as well as a sideboard parser making our board game 1 relevant. This card steals games we have no business winning and I love it.

Lightning Bolt: I don't think I need to explain why this card is good.

Temur Battle Rage: Just like in zoo this card ends games its an easy four of here.

Temur Ascendency: Now this is the centerpiece why do I only have three well because glittering wish is insane, that being said so is temur ascendency it gives haste to all creatures and turns 29 creatures in the main into cantrips its nuts.

How to Play

So this is a zoo style deck built around smacking the everloving shit out of your opponent as fast as possible. A turn 3 ascendency often ends the game on the spot and it makes ok cards busted. Don't be timid with this deck when in doubt go for it you will lose more games being to timid than you ever will being to aggressive with this deck.

Deck discussion for TheWeeklyBrew: Ascendency

Nasty. I especially like seeing Halimar Depths in here. Such an underrated land. The overall feel is just nuts too. The Ascendancy cycle are some amazing cards just looking for the right deck to be built around them

The thing with the deck is drawing the ascendency is so important because it breaks the game imaginary pet and vexing devil become busted mana dorks get even better and burning tree into myr superion is batshit but my personal favorite is the 4 glittering wishes. I feel the wishes are always so underutilized and to find a deck that it fits in perfectly makes me unbelievably happy.

How quickly do you empty your hand? Because if it's quite quick often enough, Lupine Prototype would be worth considering.

I just had a thought is Talara's Battalion better than imaginary pet?

The problem with that card is the line "...only if you've cast another green spell this turn."

I'm not sure about anyone else, but my experience with it was less than optimal.

A post Ascendancy BoP or NH basically gets you Battalion for 1 mana, and it gets haste. Hell even Burning-Tree Emissary gets it for you on turn two! Sounds like fun to me

yea but it hurts the consistency and repeatability of imaginary pet

What about affinity fracturing gust or stonys or both I can't decide here

Stony Silence is probably the way to go here. Less mana intensive and you can get it out faster

Also, Stony Silence doesn't kill the Ascendancy, like Fracturing Gust would.

Yes but you can't pull it out game one with wish maybe one of each

Worth a test. Just save an ascendancy in case you have to use it
