Deck Description

The main goal of this deck is to get out creatures with huge amounts of +1/+1 counters WITHOUT using the graveyard. Primordial Hydra and Corpsejack is a very common game winner in this deck as well as lotleth troll and Tormented Soul. I haven't gotten much use out of Scute Mob, but I plan on keeping him in to see if this changes. I also tried to use very little scavenge.

Edit 11/30/12:
So after playing with this deck several times, I really like it! It's incredibly easy to get tormented soul up to 6/6 early on, then picking away at their life total. In the process I can get out bigger guys like Primordial Hydra. And let's say they mind control my 20/20 primordial hydra, I can fate transfer all of the counters from him onto my tormented soul, Lotleth Troll, etc. and kill primordial hydra. I have also put in more cheap mana creatures to speed things up a bit and it has worked out quite well.

Update 12/5/12
Really considering removing Scute Mob. Thought he'd be more effective then he has been.
Update 2: Switched him out for Ring of Xathrid

How to Play

Try to get a hand with something you can play 1st or 2nd turn, and keep on it so long as you have atleast 1 green and 1 black. From there, do whatever you can to beef up a creature of yours that they can't prevent (I.e. Tormented Soul with Hunger of the Howlpack's Morbid ability). When possible, get Corpsejack Menace out so that your creatures can get HUGE. Playing Primodial Hydra with Corpsejack out is usually an endgame.

Deck discussion for Golgari Huge Counters

not feelin sheltering word, nor fate transfer, and i'd go ambush viper over deadly recluse, but this is all just my opinion

Removed sheltering word, but Fate Transfer can be quite a baller.

Personally I would just make it standard legal

I only ever play it casually, or else I would. It's an easy convert, so if I ever want to play in anything official I can switch it over before hand.

maybe try woodland cemetery instead of the three special lands you already have there. less chance of having to pay a price.

Just drop fate transfer and add bioshift dude....standard and easier to cast
And if you have the money, add gravecrawler to combo with lotleth, discard him and bring him back to the battlefield, u can do the same with slitherhead, but u discard him and scavenge in the sequence haha
Check out my golgari deck and comment/like, please ;D
