Deck Description

Custom Dual Deck

The opposing deck (Wizards) is in the sideboard for easy viewing. Please see this link for details on that deck: https://www.mtgvault.com/thetruelenon13/decks/wizards-dual-deck/

Warlocks: Also known as Necromancers, since there are shaman and clerics in the deck as well. The deck is built around the idea of making creatures very difficult to kill and returning them from the graveyard even if they end up there.

How to Play

You'll start out with creatures that have surveil (Deeproot Wayfinder, Dogged Detective) to set yourself up for success. Don't be afraid to put creatures in the graveyard, there are many tools for retrieving them.

Many creature abilities trigger upon entering the battlefield or attacking an opponent, so it's always good to attack with what you have. Usually it will cost the opponent more to block your creature.

Leverage Feign Death and Gaea's Gift to protect your creatures in combat and from the prevalent burn in Wizards. You can also use Gaea's Gift to force some damage through the defenses to trigger your abilities.

Beware of the counter spells in Wizards. They will constantly counter your spells, so you need to plan ahead and be unpredictable. Maybe you want to attack before casting any spells. Maybe you will cast multiple spells in a turn. Make your opponent unsure what the right things to counter are. You can also leverage Savage Summoning to force a creature out. Just remember that it could still be killed with burn from Wizards.

You have four Doom Blades, so you can use them strategically to clear out opposition.

Saryth, the Viper's Fang will give your creatures hexproof when untapped and deathtouch when tapped. She is an ideal support card to keep safe. Dragonlord Dromoka can provide some nice protection too, in the form of preventing Wizard spells during your turn.

Archon of Cruelty is very powerful. If you can pull him from your graveyard you'll be able to avoid the high cost of casting him. He is a great way to reduce your opponents cards on and off the battlefield.

Remember to be aggressive with this deck. Keep your creatures attacking and keep using your tools to protect or revive them.
