Chalice of the Void is used to slow the game down until your lands get going. 3rd turn All is dust resets the board and by fourth turn the creatures start dropping. The annihilator ability is a game changer and pumping twenty mana into the Spawnsire is the wow factor finish.

Also you have a very simple infinite combo 2 locusts plus Candelabra of Tawnos creates infinite mana, thespians stage makes the combo even easier
I don't believe so. Modern rules state that this is a tap-able ability in order for Candelabra.
