Deck Description

I had a BUG deck before but changed it. I am now recreating the BUG.

I am also looking to get some sort of standard mana ramp action going on. More mana = bigger infect.

Currently this deck does have a few cards that will be phasing out come October. I will be looking to replace those as well.

**EDIT**
I will be adding Woodland Cemeteries ({T}: Add {B} or {G} to your mana pool) and
Hinterland Harbors ({T}: Add {G} or {U} to your mana pool)

Currently the only thing i see that can replace distortion strike is Flight.
and Giant growth will have to be replaced by maybe Titanic growth.

Deck discussion for Black/Blue/Green (BUG) Infect

Rampant Growth and Explore are your best bets.

Forget the Ichor Rats and put in Phyrexian Crusaders. Also cut the Virulent wound and go with 3 Birthing Pods and 1 Vatmother or Skithiryx. there is also no reason you shouldn't have that third Inkmoth in there. cut an island and put it in. You should have the Pods in there and at least one Vatmother or Skithiryx. No question. I have never seen a successful three colored infect though. Good luck.

Phyrexian Crusader is the correct choice. Cant really believe I forgot that one. And Rampant Growth is good too.

I have never really been a fan of Vatmother but that one would fit in for late game action. I would have had Skittles in there but the cost is a bit high. 5 mana to play (6 if you want to use it that turn). If I get enough ramp, then yes skittles would be great.

Birthing Pod would work in the ramping deck style. Come October, Rampant growth will be the only one, so far we know of, the only cheap mana getter.

Virulent Wound. I have seen people praise and dismiss this card. I don't know about you but with infect, how many times have you been blocked by that 1/1 chump blocker? It has happened a lot to me when I play infect. not only does it get rid of that 1/1, it also gives it a poison counter. i have won plenty of games with virulent wound as the last counter.

Inkmoth Nexus. I have used this one once as a flying infect to get the kill. Other than that, it has just been there for mana. I may be holding back on it but i find that i am casting other spells with that 1 mana or holding it for an instant later on. Inkmoth is there as a just in case kinda thing.

I will probably get the birthing pods and skittles in there once there is more standard cheap mana ramping cards out there. The Viridian Emissary is the only non-infect creature but hopefully will get killed soon enough for the mana.
