Deck Description

This is my current proposed tourny deck.

As you can see, it has multiple options for getting multiple lands out on a single turns, and several creatures built around mana.

The Birds of Paradise was a difficult choice for me, and some of you may wonder why I have BoP in this deck instead of a couple other mana-giving elves that may be more appropriate. One of the more obvious weaknesses to the deck is flying, and because BoP is a flier, it can serve as my mana slave, as well as a chump blocker.

The main focus is to get as much mana on the field as possible for Garruk's -6 and, moreover, the Primordial Hydras, and have enough creatures out that, even if a 20/20 Hydra by turn 4-5 (depending on how lucky you are) fails, you could go all out and get it done with overrun.

The Side deck has the answers to the majority of the weaknesses I believe this deck has, but I would still like some feedback on the deck.

Thanks. :]

Deck discussion for Mana Ramp: Pure Forest Creature Rush

Imo, this deck should work off of 20 land, which gives you some more space for things like beast within.

I am a little worried about taking away land from this deck. Garruk and the Primordial Hydras, which are all fairly heavily land based cards need as much land on the field as possible to be effective. I don't think it would be an efficient choice to take land out and decrease the odds of getting it... But I may be wrong? Beast Within is hardly a game breaker, at least. However, I do like that card quite a bit, I will replace it for Vorinclex in my sideboard. Thanks for that. :] (Anti-artifact)

I can see what you are saying about the BoP and flying but you can also have skinshifter take care of those pesky fliers...You could sub in for those birds Elvish Archdruid. You could side-deck the BoP just incase they are playing a heavy fly deck.

But this is just a suggestion im not sure if you want to turn this deck into an elf looking deck.

I usually use the Skinshifters for the 4/4 rhino with trample, or the 0/8 plant in case of emergencies. The Skinshifters blocking as a 2/2 with flying is a little silly, because the majority of the fliers you're going to be wanting to block to save your life probably aren't going to be 1/1s, or even 2/2s. Especially with squadron hawks dropping out of block. I do thank you for your suggestion, however. :]

if you are going to have this deck where you get tons of forests out, why not add 2-4 dungrove elders? Hexproof is great because he cannot be killed by a simple doom blade, and the power and toughness increase with the more forests you get, which can be a lot with this deck.

Also, I suggest subbing cultivate in for rampant growth at least until it cycles out in a couple months
