Deck discussion for Blue-Red Contol

I would take out everything that isn't necessary i.e. hellkite charger, snapping drake, capricious efreet, air elemental, etc. I do like the sphinx of jwar/djinn of wishes combo. I would put atleast one more of each of those if not two or three. Ponder is really nice with those as well. I would scrap teetering peaks and put in more mountains or maybe something that can produce red or blue. With all the spells you have and the djinn you might also use mystical tutors and searing wind. Ten damage to target creature or player for 5. Not bad. Swap mind control for control magic. It is just better. Check out my blue red control deck, let me know what you think. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=34690

I don't see it as very controlling. Defensive, maybe, but not controlling. Counterspell? Capsize? Boomerang? Those are controlling. I have a blue/red control deck, and I love it. Works well in 2v1. If you want to take a look, here's the link:

I'd say you need more "controlling" cards if you want this deck to live up to its name.
