Deck Description

This deck originated as a Dimir themed mill deck, with emphasis on the milling. However, it did not stand up to aggro decks and changes had to be made. Eventually, it became what it is now.

The main strategy is centered around building a strong defense with cards such as Tidehollow Strix and Dimir Infiltrator buffed by Glen Elendra Liege. This provides a strong base for Jace Beleren to build loyalty and to fling Glimpse the Unthinkable at your opponent. Meanwhile, Drowner Initiate slowly chips away at the opponent's deck and Circu demoralizes your opponent by rendering their cards unplayable.

Last Gasp provides a strong early removal and Ribbons of Night not only removes and heals, but helps you go through your deck as well. It's expensive but can help shift momentum when used at the right time. Dimir Guildmage is another good utility card with its abilities and its blocker potential (especially buffed).

Oona is a strong finisher, a solid 5/5 that brings in even more minions while wiping the opponent's deck away. With Glen Elendra Liege, she becomes all the better.

This deck is my favorite in how it works and second in playing only to my Savra deck. It's too much fun seeing your opponent's deck being shredded yet can't even attack due to the strong field you can build with this deck.

Deck discussion for Dimir-Oona Alliance

Painters Servant + Oona is a great combo to keep plenty of chump blockers while you set up your combo.

Didn't know that card existed! Definitely going to see about picking up a set.

Also just realized that it could facilitate Drowner Initiate as it can be triggered by any player playing a blue spell.
