The idea behind this deck is to play a bunch of green cards onto the battlefield that have the forest symbol in their mana cost. If you count the number of Forest symbols, this will give you a total "Devotion" to green cost.For a cost of 3 mana, Nykthos Shrine to Nyx allows you create green (or red) mana equal to your devotion to green (or red) count. This can lead to some scary big numbers being added to the mana pool.Factor in that Voyaging Satyr can untap a target land, you can essentially get to goes on Nykthos Shrine to Nyx in the same round - creating CRAZY amounts of mana to spend on casting expensive creatures or going monstrous on Polukranos and board wiping all your opponents creatures!Cards such as Burning-Tree Emissary and Arbor Collusus contribute alot towards the green or red mana devotion count.Combo:- Courser of Kruphix allowing you to see the top card- Domri Rade - you can now work out if his +1 is going to hit a creatureor- Chandra, Pyromancer - using her +0, you can work out if the top card is a viable card to play as you can see it.
Turn 1:- Forest- Elvish Mystic- Your devotion to green count is now: 1Turn 2:- Nykthos, Shine to Nyx- Burning-Tree Emissary- Reverend Hunter (enters with +4/+4 on him making him a 5/5)- Your devotion to green count is now: 4Turn 3:- Mountain- Pay 3 - Use Nykthos to generate 4 green mana to cast: - Courser of Kruphix (you can now see your top card) - Voyaging Satyr- Your devotion to green count is now: 7Turn 4:- Forest (gain 1 life from Courser of Kruphix)- Pay 3 - Use Nykthos to generate 7 green mana- Untap Nykthos using the Voyaging Satyr- Pay 3 - Use Nykthos to generate another 7 green mana- You now have 14 floating mana and 2 lands for 16 mana total!- Play Domri Rade and use his +1 to draw a card that's on top (you can see it and it'll probably be a creature!)- Garruk Caller of Beasts : Activate his +1 and look at the top 5 cards and add all creature cards to your hand- Arbor Collosus- Your devotion to green count is now: 13Turn 5:- Play the top card of your library if it's a land (gain 1 life from Courser of Kruphix)- Pay 3 - Use Nykthos to generate 13 green mana- Untap Nykthos using the Voyaging Satyr- Pay 3 - Use Nykthos to generate another 13 green mana- You now have 26 floating mana and 3 lands for 29 mana total!- Activate Garruk Caller of Beast's +1 and look at the top 5 cards and add all creature cards to your hand- Play Xenagos, God of Revels- Play Polukronos. You have 20 mana spare to go monstrous for an x of 9. Put 9 +1/1 counters on Polukronos and fight various creatures on your opponents side killing them.- Start of Combat - Xenagos gives Polukronos haste and an additional +13/+13 - making Polukronos a 26/26 attacking creature!- Attack!!It just gets crazy silly fast. It's brilliant! :-D
