Doomblade/Hideous End are pretty horrible in current format as 80% of playable decks have black as a major color. You'd be better off with 4x Tendrils of Corruption and 4x Vampire Lacerators instead of those and put those in your sideboard in case of white weenie or some weird blue green or red deck you may face.

Exactly. Its also to keep costs down. My major cost is the Nocturnus which will set me back a good 50 bucks but other then that, I can be competitive without going overboard. With bloodghasts, I may as well change half the creatures I'm playing.
No Nocturnus? That guy is like the staple of any deck. For the small hindrance of having your top card shown, you get a 5/4 Flyer for 4 mana. (unless a land or artifact is on top)...
