Cause a playset of scrublands would almost double the cost of the deck hahah. Maybe godless shrines....

Hi Jessie,
I wanted to comment here, on one of your lesser-known decks, rather than comment directly on your Blue is Control, Right? deck for fear a lot of the other people would read it.
I proxy'd this deck at my local comic book store this weekend. It didn't do very well because of the high mana ramp. Plus, they usually had enough creatures, even low weenies, to ping me down 20 life enough times. A few of the better players recognized it as an old-school deck that they saw more of back in the day. They had a few suggestions, but they would SO not make your deck budget anymore so I won't even suggest them.
After a lengthy discussion, we though about taking out all of your creatures and using black vise as your win-con. Adding sphere of resistance and thorn of amethyst would slow them way down also (sure it slows you down as well, but black vise would beat the HELL outta them). Anyway, I didn't make any changes yet. Too busy. We also play D+D and X-wing at the shop too (not to mention I'm trying to change one of my mono-black decks to orzov...). I'll keep you posted regarding that green land destruction deck.

Another solid deck by Jessie the Deck Master!

Comments/suggestions - very high on the mana curve. I would suggest taking out the 4 acidic slimes (by the time you can cast the slimes, you should already be controlling their land base) and replacing them with Elvish Mystics/Llanowar Elves to help your mana ramp. I would also suggest taking out 3 stunted growth (for the same reason above, because by the time you can cast it, you should already be in control) and upping the forests by 3 more. That would give you the standard 24 lands + <2.5 CMC. This is definitely one of your decks I'll have to deck test asap. Keep up the good work man! You're a real asset to this site!!! =)

Since I am assuming you will need extra mana, you can always add karametra, god of horizons. I know, a little steep on the mana curve. Hmm. Maybe you can sideboard her.

Solid deck man. I always like the "+1/+1 and flying if this color, +1/+1 and vigilance if this other color". Those are great. A little high on the mana curve for my tastes. I know you have a keyrune but I would prefer avacyn's pilgrim for white mana (but since it's an elf/wolf deck, maybe llanowar elves for green mana?). The tolsimir wolf is a great pumper, but a little slow at 6CMC...and then needs another turn to pop out a wolf. Since rhys and zenith may use a lot of mana (not to mention two lands), i'd up the land count to 24.

I really like this selesnya deck. Enough to proxy it, but it'll take a while since I'm already proxy-ing and making a lot of decks now heheh.

+1!!!

Hmmm. Interesting. Not familiar with that aether dude. Yeah, once I work out the kinks in this deck I'll give him a look-see. ;-)

Thanks so much! Yeah, I forgot about Invigorate. A free spell! Heheheh. Actually, I don't care about the life, like you said. I can give them 20 life, but it'll just be a constant turn 1 for them every time hahahahah.

Hey there. I made a deck based off of yours here:
http://www.mtgvault.com/tleung84633/decks/lockdown-and-bounce/

I haven't play-tested it yet but I wanted to know what you think (basically splashed in green buff spells and some more protection spells).

So whatcha guys think at first glance? I have this deck already made and I will play-test the hell out of it this weekend at the comic book store (and make appropriate changes), but I was just wondering what you guys thought initially? Thanks!

Hey great idea! Free counterspell with the Pact. And by then, I will probably have 5 mana just in case. Thanks for the tip!

So whatcha guys think about this? I know there is Leyline of the Void that pretty much does the same combo, but I feel that blue is better for control/protection of your combo as opposed to black.

Hello again. Thanks to everyone who liked and commented on this deck.
I played in a few channel fireball modern tournaments with the deck and I had to make some changes. Notably, put 2 lilianas in the main deck (sorry! I know she's damn expensive but she works out SO well after I made the changes).

Some minor changes, but besides Liliana, the only other major change was replacing the removal spells (victim of night and geth's verdict) with Gatekeeper of Malakirs since he'll serve 2 purposes with the kicker cost (like Jessie said: try to get your cards to do 2 things instead of one) >=)

The changes have been doing well. I'll try it out in a few more channel fireball modern tournaments and let you know how it turns out, but whatcha guys think for now?
