Deck Description

Want an interesting way to win Magic? The combo works on Thought Lash to exile your library (while preventing damage!) and Laboratory Maniac so you cannot draw any cards and win!

How to Play

You only need Thought Lash and Laboratory Maniac. Ponder/Preordain help search for them. Wall of Omens/Augur of Bolas for defense, search, and card draw. Wrath of God/Counterspell/Mana Leak to slow down your opponent.

Don't put out Thought Lash unless you have the Maniac in your hand or you might accidentally exile him during the cumulative upkeeps. But Thought Lash typically goes out first.

Don't put out Laboratory Maniac until you are ready to win and have at least 1 spell to protect him. In case people use doom blades or shocks on the Maniac, use Counterspell/Mana Leak for protection. You can exile your library with Thought Lash at any time since it works as an instant (you can prevent damage that doesn't exist - I looked it up in the rules).

If they pull out a last second lightning bolt or doom blade for the Maniac and you're all out of Counterspells and Mana Leaks? Use Gush for the win! =)

Note: Replace Gush with Opt (sideboard) to make it Legacy Legal.

Lightning Greaves so you don't lose to removal.

Nice catch. I'll add it to the sideboard. Good to put out there early on, save mana for later, and equip for 0 cost when Maniac comes out. Can still be removed with Wrath, Damnation, Mizzum Mortars, etc. but still good against lots of other removals - path to exile, tragic slip, etc. Thanks!

Had no idea Gush was broken!
I have seen many simple style decks with Maniac, but this one, with control, looks very solid!

My friends (he doesn't get on here anymore, introduced me to the site...and got aggravated at the quality of the decks that people voted to be hot) version:

http://www.mtgvault.com/magiccontroller/decks/remove-all-your-lands/

It is much simpler...but it doesn't have the control that your deck does.

Another really good deck!!!
Good job!

P.S. The new wrath of god is pretty! :)

Hey thanks a lot! I really like this deck for so many reasons - who cares if they have 100 life or gigantic 10/10 creatures on the field? BAM! A rare win con with the lab maniac heheh. It works in 1on1 or multiplayer.

I will not be surprised, when you come back tonight, if you don't have a Hot deck or two.
