Deck Description

Uniting all of Alara for great power.

Core monster in this deck is Knight of New Alara. Basically, he holy shit-storm buffs up my monsters. He makes all of my 2 mana monsters 6/5's with their special ability
Naya - Shroud
Esper - Flying
Bant - First Strike
Jund - Haste
Grixis - Deathtouch

And then he adds +5/+5 to my bigger monsters. Maelstrom Archangle becomes a 10/10 flying, Fusion Elemental becomes 13/13, and Progenitus becomes 15/15 with protection from everything. And that's only with 1 Knight of the New Alara on the field. If i get multiples of them...dear god.

Only draw backs of this deck is that it's all creatures. Too susceptible to instant/sorcery spells.

Deck discussion for New Alara United

try the card child of alara, it is expensive but totally worth it.

I thought that at first, but i want this deck to be, that once i get the field full of monsters, that it would be impossible for them to stop me. Sure, Child of Alara would be an 11/11 with trample, but if they play a simple terminate, my entire field dies. Yeah, didnt want to play with the time bomb.

I have one problem with this deck, all your mana are come into play tapped mana. That puts you one turn behind a regular deck when it comes to mana. Yes all of your stuff is cheap. But if I can get out my stuff quicker. I win.

Also, you have absolutely no mana manipulation or mana acceleration, which means you can only hard cast Progenitus. That will likely never happen in a professional game. Since it would take til turn 11 at the earliest (since your at a 1 turn lag with your mana)

My friend just made a deck that can cheat out progenitus, twice, 4-5 turn. It's fairly easy, hard casting though. Well, if your still alive come turn 11, then go for it, but it's not likely that the game will last that long.

Otherwise, cool standard deck.

About the special mana, I know and I just have to accept it, it would be alot harder trying to play with basic lands. And you obviously didnt look at Maelstrom Archangel OR Elvish Piper. They're both very easy ways to get Progenitus out on the field.

+ Progenitus is a very nice card, but he isnt ESSENTIAL in this deck. It's theme is using all of Alara for huge power. Knight of New Alara is like the general, the important dude. He makes all my 2 mana drop monsters 6/5's with their special ability, Maelstrom Archangel a 10/10 flyer, Fusion Elemental 13/13, and Progenitus 15/15.

I really like this deck, looks like a lot of fun for a simple bash-em-up creature deck. I don't know how well it would perform in the vintage multiplayer format I usually play, but I'm tempted to proxy it and give it a whirl.

Do you still play this deck? I think it might be worth while to cut back a few of the creatures (you'd still have more than enough with just three of each, excepting Knight of New Alara) to include a few general utility / control spells. Permanent removal and counter spells in your side board would help cover yourself against creature control decks. Just a thought :)
