Thank you. There really isn't much for discard in standard right now. I wanted to stay away from the Alara block cause it's dropping in October. Thanks again though.

You should think about adding Megrim. It works as a great combo for discarding.

Can you check out my mill deck? It is called "Great Mill Deck". Thanks.

The reason I didn't add Megrim is because it's no longer standard. Megrim was not reprinted in M11. Instead, it was replaced with Liliana's Caress. Which does the same thing, but for 1 colorless less to cast.

I run a deck that is quite similar to this, and I find it to be quite effective. I admit that I didn't think of Bloodchief Ascension until I saw it in your deck. In the version I run with though, I actually found that I don't really need Mind Rot and Mind Sludge. If you have 4 Duress, Mire's Toll, and Inquisition of Kozilek, they'll generally either be on top deck mode, and/or sitting on a card they don't dare play.

I figured Mind Rot would be a good card to use after turn 3 to make sure there hand stays at 0. Plus it's an instant activation of Quest for the Nihil Stone. And I thought of a combo with it. I can use Sign in Blood to make them lose 2 and draw to cards. That puts a counter on Bloodchief Ascension. Then use Mind Rot to make them discard the cards they just drew. Thats 4 damage if I have Liliana's Caress out. 8 if Bloodchief Ascension is active. Then 5 more from Quest for the Nihil Stone.

Temple bell is great for these decks, because eventually they run out of cards and you have a lot of dead discard. Temple bell gives you the option of refilling both your and your opponent's hands with ammunition, all for you.

Hmm, that is a good idea. I like it. I actually pulled one of those the other day.

I would take out mind sludge. In theory it's kinda a good card. But when will you need it?
For 5 mana it's way too slow and most of times opponent hand is already played or there are 1-2 cards remaining to discard.
And i would replace Inquisition of Kozilek for blackmail. If that card may be used in this settings.
Maye add some dark rituals just too speed ur deck a little up instead of 22 swamps.
If you do 20 swamps, remove mind, sludge, +4 dark rituals is 60 cards again.

Dark Rituals and Blackmail are not standard. This whole deck is made to be standard. And I'll more than likly use Sing in Blood instead of Mind Sludge.

I know no one has commented on this in awhile but I just made a few changes and redid the sideboard. So more comments are welcome.

Haunting Echoes can often be a game finisher in good discard deck. Trying running 1 or 2.
