Deck Description

SHAMELESSLY stolen from the pages of InQuest magazine.

Annoyance #1: Divine Intervention

The meat and potatoes of this deck. Who wouldn't love sitting through a hard fought, hour-long game, only to have it end in a draw? It's also hard to find, so there's only one in this deck. Thus, you need to play it wisely. Never put it out unless you have ways to protect it against an Erase or Scour, such as Forbid, Time Elemental or Capsize--preferably more than one. And if they don't remove it from the game, break out a Replenish or Feldon's Cane to start the fun all over again! Arcane Laboratory will help you efforts tremendously; your opponent will only get one chance to get rid of it or he blows it.

Annoyance #2: Mother of Runes

One of the best, and most frustrating, one-casting-cost creatures ever made, Mother Of Runes is on of the keys to keeping you alive until you Divine Intervention comes through. She can keep herself or another creature in play for your Worship, create an unkillable blocker or save your Peacekeeper from a fiery red death. Of course, the fun really starts when you have two or more, ready and willing to protect anything. Combined with Arcane Laboratory, you creatures will probably stay in play until doomsday.

Annoyances #3 and #4: Capsize and Forbid

Possibly two of the most infuriating buyback spells ever created, they are naturally blue. Given enough resources, Capsize and Forbid can completely disrupt an opponent's plans. Savor their looks of anguish as you site with plenty of mana and a full hand of cards, just itching to bounce everything they try to kill and counter the rest. Don't be afraid to cast Feldon's Cane, there are more where that came from! Time Elemental adds to the agony of boomeranging permanents. Boingy, boingy, boingy...

Annoyance #5: Shahrazad

Should your Divine Intervention be slow in coming, or if you just want to grind you opponent's soul into the dirt, Shahrazad is the way to go. With Fork and Feldon's Cane, you can cast the one Shahrazad up to nine times! After the first four or five, though, you can probably count your opponent throwing his library at you as a "win."

Annoyances #6 and #7: Worship and Humility

Divine Intervention isn't the only white enchantment your opponent will hate on sight, oh no. When Humility turns all of his creatures into near-impotent 1/1's, and Worship makes you almost unkillable, he'll pray for a Tranquility or Serenity. Here, Flickering Ward works well with either, allowing a creature to have protection from any color, which will enhance your use of both enchantments. Be sure to put these cards very close to your opponent's side of the table, so he'll have to notice them every time he makes a move. Rub it in.

Annoyances #8 and #9: Chaos Moon and Soldier of Fortune

No, they don't have much to do with the main thrust of your deck, but they can be as annoying as all hell, making your opponent weak against your other tricks. Combine Chaos Moon with Flickering Ward to always get the results you want and insist that your opponent do the counting each upkeep. If he refuses, you go ahead and do it, but do it slo-o-o-o-wly. What you do with Soldier of Fortune is obvious; this card combos well with nacho cheese all over the table.

So the next time your opponent Mind Twists you in a game "for fun," or your multiplayer game drags on with the excitement of playing basic ands, don't get mad, get even! Whip out this deck and see how smug they are with half their hair torn out in frustration!
