Deck discussion for Too fast too furious

I like this deck, it is so freaking fast! However it is really expensive, if you drop the Chain Lightning, Vexing Devil and Goblin Guide your deck will become much more affordable. To replace those lost cards I recommend you add your choice of Goblin Lookout, Goblin Bushwacker, Frenzied Goblin or Mudbrawler Cohort. Also, some good spells you could add could be Flame Burst, Skullcrack, Sonic Burst or Sonic Seizure. Finally, try and have at least 20 lands. Overall a good deck, +1 for me.

Thx for your opinion but... 20lands its to much, all cards cost 1 mana. I test this deck a lot and I need creatures only for spells :) Usually on 1 turn I can attack :) In real I replace Goblin Guide --> Raging Goblin and Chain Lightning --> Shock because this cards are too expensive.

Just remove it from your hand, don't pay it normal cost. I think that is the most effective gravehate card.

Would recommend enchantment hate or sth like that for sideboard, because this list leaves you dead to Leyline of Sanctity. Any deck running it can basically go to a starting hand of three cards if these include a LoS.

if you run 4 satyr firedancer, you don't have to get hit in the face or stop targeting the player

4 sulfuric vortex is too many. It really becomes dead in multiples plus you really only want 2 lands the entire game. I see PoP in the SB but it is a star in legacy. I'd certainly maindeck them.

many of my friends play on one color decks, that's the reason I placed PoP on sideboard. Sulfuric Vortex, Flame Rift --> Glacial Chasm

Goblin Guide and Grim Lavamancer over the Devil any day, (turn 1 Guide nets 2-4 damage 80ish% of the time, turn 2 Grim allows you to fill your yard in time for his summon sickness to pass and gives you reach after your burn has been countered. > Devil dies before his first combat step close to 75% of the time, oh and Nobody ever pays the 4 if they have removal in their deck).
Another critter with a serious payoff is Eidolon of the Great Revel, on the play it dominates and hands out piles of damage.
By loosing the Devil, Wraths and the awful Chasm you've cleared room for a 4-4-2 split that will seriously upgrade your deck.
9-12 fetch lands yanks a land out of your deck pretty much every other turn and in your build it is desperately needed as you will be pulling blanks, (read lands), long after the game should be over...

Legacy burn a "whole new deck" You are kidding, right?
Here is a little history lesson for you from a 2004 article posted on the mothership:
http://archive.wizards.com/Magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtgcom/daily/ash24

uncle posted the deck as Unloved so I assume that he/she is either fishing for constructive criticism, (see my previous post), or someone to stroke his/her ego, (I'll let someone else take care of that).

If you want to contribute to the MTGVault community maybe you can in your next post on the site adopt either one of those positions instead of innately trolling...

I'm not trolling, but I see your point upon further inspection of post and deck. Oops. I'm only 12, and have little skill to pick put a decks full meaning, combos, purpose, and so on, and so forth. I'm sorry if my post was offensive to you, and I will delete it if you would like. But I am NOT a troll, I genuinely saw that point of view at that point in time.

my main issue with this is theres essentially ZERO board presence. A deck like this will end up using most of its burns to remove than deal damage. And once turn 4 or 5 comes around, you'll be out of cards and your opponent's creatures will take 2 burns to be gotten rid of.

Burn rarely plays the removal game. I agree it's light on creatures, but I think you misunderstand what the objective ie

If I play Glacial Chasm these creatures did not threaten

A decent build but it could be more competitive.
I would -2 Sulphuric Vortex and +2 Pyrostatic Pillar. Since you don't need multiples in play.
As well I don't think the side board warrants 4 copies of Havok. 2 or 3 Exquisite Firecraft will come in really handy in it's place against control.
I'm not a fan of the Glacial Chasm. 4 Goblin Guides would be more beneficial IMO. Ending the game faster is a better strategy then stalling the game. Eidolon of the Great Revel would be another great substitution for it.
Always remeber it doesn't matter if you have 1 life left if your opponent has 0.
Just my opinions, Happy Casting.

I'm really not a fan of Pyrostatic Pillar. Since almost all the spells in here are <4 mana, and your opponents could just not cast cheap spells, Sulferic Vortex merits more slots than the Pillar.

I agree with Maniac that Goblin Guide would help out this deck a lot. I'd probably take out 3 mountains and a Glacial Chasm for it. Then, although it's 1 more mana, Zo-Zu the Punisher would be a nice substitute for Pillar because of its synergy with Goblin Guide. Overall good deck, though.

Well a deck like this is so fast, If your opponent isn't playing low cmc cards they're dead anyway.

Have you considered Monastery Swiftspear or Young Pyromancer? Great Red aggro cards seeing a lot of modern play.

if u plan to use glacial chasm then most wont take damage for the devil maybe add some expedition maps to help get the chasm and guttersnipe might be useful u can probably drop a few lands to make room

'unloved' what it means in this game?

I just meant because it was in the unloved page. Does it have another meaning besides "not liked"?

1

Yea, I get what you are saying. There is no special meaning here, in fact this deck is getting a lot of attention.

If you're looking for a budget creature replacement, Monastery Swiftspear is great. Since this seems to be a casual burn deck, you may also consider Price of Progress as a cheap and effective burn card depending on whether your opponents play a lot of basic lands.
