I have twisted the typical Mono-Green Elves setup to be good enough to defeat 1,400 Jund, 1600 Jeskai, and even more expensive Mono-Green Tron with the right first and second hands. All while being pretty affordable due to the missing 2 Collected Companies and staying mono-green.Ideal first hand for most matches: elvish mystic, forest , elvish archdruid, fog, Lead the Stampede, collected company, arbor elf or another elvish mystic.Sideboard info: Blossoming Defense for one lets you turn the tables with +2/+2 and hexproof.Thornweald Archer halts airborne attacks with reach and deathtouch (and they double due to being an elf .Creeping Corrosion exists for even more artifact destruction when playing artifact decks.Rhys the Exiled exists for life gain if it's needed.
Basic play: Ramp until about turn 4-5 and take combat damage early on. Get Elvish Archdruid out early, follow with imperious perfect. Leave an Elvish Mystic or Arbor Elf untapped to use fog to deflect early and mid game damage (1 untapped land is more obvious). Use Lead the Stampede to fish for more ramp and +1/+1 combo cards. Use Collected Company to get Elvish Archdruid, Ezuri, and Imperious Perfect on the battlefield and really make things bad for your opponent. Use Triump of the Hordes to swing wide and potentially inflict 10 or more infect damage for a win. Save and use Viridian Corrupter for infect damage and destruction of brutal artifacts.
