i would definately put in a Tidewater Minion infinate damage combo:

Tidewater Minion equipped with Freed from the Real + have a Izzet Boilerworks (untapped!) and something like Fireball or Banefire in hand.

Tap boilerworks, +2mana. tap tidewater, untap boiler works. tap boilerworks +2 mana [4 mana total], pay 1, untap tidewater. tap tidewater, untap boilerworks. tap boilerworks, +2 again. [5mana]

keep doing this to get 1 EXTRA mana each time, then use that extra mana (which is all red except for 1 blue) to fuel either an uncounterable banefire or a fireball field wipe. fireball is better in multiplayer games since it can target multiple players.

ponder would be better than preordain just because preordain kinda doesnt pull its own weight.

i would throw in a bomb somewhere in their, like Roil Elemental or Sphinx of Magosi, or Habor Serpent

well, i found a nice thing about clone is that say you are playnig against green and they got an enormous bomb out... but then canopy covered it, you cant use rite of replication when it is your turn. BUT a clone however, doesnt target, so you can still copy it...

carnifex demon is good and all, but this deck needs a way to give its own creatures +1/+1 counters because carnifex demon kinda stabs itself in the back: it also puts -1/-1 counters on your creatures.

lol yeah, memoricide would be a hoser for this deck.

try adding a second win condition like Painful Quandary... (just to piss off that guy who uses memoricide on you)

but yeah, nice deck. i would go mono black for relentless rats though.

haunting echoes is a must have. run 4x tome scour, DEFINATELY hedron crab

As a little helper in milling, throw in 4x jace's erasure, and 4x memory erosion. if you want to get lorwyn into this, add Forced Fruition.

Mind Funeral is a must, and if you are playing against someone who shuffles their library a lot (like green mana acceleration decks), throw in Archive Trap

i dont really like mind control because it uses 5 mana. i usually go for Roil Elemental + stuff to defend it with because it can control multiple creatures.

dont use deprive. Mana Leak is better, and if you must: cancel/essence scatter. Deprive messes up mana tempo badly after a while.

Personallly, i would prefer a wall of frost or guard gomazoa to Calcite Snapper, Merfolk Sovereign to Coralhelm commander, and i wouldnt use unified will unless you play token because it wouldnt be much use in early game.

meh, i kinda like naya hushblade since it is a nice 2 mana creature with shroud... i agree that there should be more bloodbraid elfs... but im also thinking about doing a cultivate + explore mini combo to get lands down faster...

lol sorry about that.. its just i have TONS of control decks myself... and personally, i HATE control spells that only counter one type of card... like Dispel...

I also tryed out this deck because i have all the cards you listed above, give or take an island (i ran 3 halimar depths in my rendition but that was all the changes...)

Me and a friend dueled, me using this deck and my friend rotating between my other 6 various decks. this deck won 1 of 6 duels because of two reasons: A: i kept drawing lands and B: at the end of the 6 duels, i barely got to play some of the cards twice.

yeah its Diminish... i chose not to add it because though its better than fleeting distraction, i like how fleeting distraction also has draw a card XD

personally, i would run 4 mana leak and 2 cancel cause you arent a control based deck so cheap soft control cards outweigh the more expensive hard ones... and Turn Aside could be a nice addin

not if it isnt burning. this deck is control at the start, burn later on. its made to make your opponent think your just going to be playing a R/U control, but when you plot down that fire axe it is instant win.

no, because with all the draw im pretty certain i can get a mana myr out.

no lightning bolt is not better in this case since i only want a card that targets creatures. though bolt is instant speed, a flame slash is that tiny bit stronge (forexample, you only need 2 to take out wall of frost compared to 3 bolts)

its not as burn deck really... its control at the start until you can start the combo. Fleeting Distraction is there because it can both weaken target creature AND it draws. which is my main goal with this deck.

mindsculptor is a bit iffy since most people try to kill it when it hits the field and is weak... beleren is a safer bet.

why no haunting echoes? it may seem like mill but it takes out TONS of threats late game...

this deck is a bit unstable... too many one-copies can result in it not working the same each time...

I would definately take out Dispel and instead add negate... cancel for mana leak/deprive, and remove soul for essence scatter. Unsummon for into the roil, dehydration for either Narcolepsy or Paralysing Grasp, dont bother with archmage since it will take about 6 turns to start working...

Sage owl for Augury Owl, Frontline Sage for... nothing (or Scroll Thief or even Merfolk Looter). Screw the thada adel, venerated teacher and clone and add more wall of frost, guard gomazoa and sphinx magosi.

i know, but if you can find a way to make like artifact tokens to sac, or an infinite respawn combo, it would be better than using some of your well needed artifacts
