Deck Description

Hello everyone, before you get to my deck I'd like to say I'm a casual Magic The Gathering player and I am uploading this personal deck I will be using for some feedback. Its a werewolf deck I've made, trying to give it my own twist while keeping it tornament quality. I'm hoping for some constructive feedback on anything I can add or take out to make the deck better.

Hope you enjoy my deck and am looking forward to your comments and feedback.

Werewolves ftw! ;D

Deck discussion for Full Moon Wolf Run

I have to say this is a nice deck, I plan on running werewolves as well, but mine are going to be token producing as well. If you wouldn't mind checking out my WereToken deck?

Overall I think this is a good deck, I'm just a little iffy on the inclusion of Triumph of the Hordes.

I agree. 4 cost is a little high when you could just be using full moons rise, and the infect is just useless.

No room for Full Moon's Rise?

there is two. But its a lot nicer to run four.

Hmm some good suggestions. I'll see what I can do taking out triumph of the hordes. The idea there was to land 10 infect on them via trample while stacking the effects of the werewolves. Thinking about it now full moon's rise is a better all around card that gives the same +1/+0 as triumph of the hordes.

Note to anyone looking at this deck, you're gona want to sideboard out sword of body and mind against any graveyard deck. Unless your feeling quite bold.

I think 4x Wolfbitten Captive // Krallenhorde Killer would be a great addition to this deck hes a great first turn drop.

I personally don't think Asceticism is worth it at all. 5 mana just to protect you're werewolves. Also, Rootbound Crag is standard, so that should definitely be in there. Helps your land base and as long as its early it doesn't slow you down. At worst when you draw it it does what the Evolving Wilds would do; at best it makes your life easy turns 1-4. I'd sideboard the Night break ranger and add more Kruin Outlaws as they combo with Instigator and Full Moon's Rise soooo well. Also I personally feel that if you have red in your deck and you don't put in some burn, you're missing out huge. I'd put in some Arc Trails or Incinerates. Also I'm not sure why Immerwolf isn't in here. Also take a look at Huntsmaster of the Fells
If you wouldn't mind, take a look at some of my decks. I'd appreciate any help you could give me.

the deck is only at 54 cards because it was made a while before DKA was added to the database. Immerwolf and Huntmaster are listed in the description. I have fooled around with this deck but increasing more kruins outlaws or anything with a higher cost would make the mana curve too high.

Will consider your input on the deck. I am making changes to it now. However asutarii is right cards are (soon were) listed in the description. Asceticism is in there to protect Immerwolf. With Immerwolf out and protected other players have a much harder time getting rid of him and have to deal with a lot more werewolves.

I took out 1 Asceticism and 1 Moonmist and put in 2 Huntmasters in their place. Works very well.

May I suggest throwing a couple of Flings in there, as they deal damage based on your power at the point of casting, your pluses on attack can make for some nice surprise damage to the opposing player, and may even give you the win a lot faster.

Hmm fling would be interesting. I sideboarded Red Suns Zenith as I enjoy how it returns to the deck after being cast and allows me to tap all my untaped lands with it. With Werewolves you often find yourself playing 1 card a turn so holding Zenith in your hand until you have little to play works well as you should have a decent amount of lands by then. I see how fling would work though. Would Fling be better then the Zenith?

Cut Gatstaf Shepard imo, Intimidate is ok but quite frankly have a playset of Full Moon's Rise is more important, especially considering that you have no options for bringing creatures back from the graveyard.

Why wouldn't you sub Wolfbitten Captive // Krallenhorde Killer for Reckless Waif? They are both 1 drops but Wolfbitten is infinitely better.

Put. Huntmaster. In. You aren't always going to have an Immerwolf out (people machine gun them down) and for 4 converted mana you might as well take advantage of what it has to offer when they flip your werewolves.

Also, don't listen to the comment about Asceticism. It protects your wolves in more than one way. First the obvious way (destroy target creature) so that your strikers aren't being doombladed. Second it specifically keeps Immerwolf alive in the same way. Live Immerwolf = Mayor is always producing tokens that are at least 4/4 at the end of every turn, oh and if you need to block with a creature? Regenerate (see my above comment about Full Moon's Rise). Finally, even if you don't have an Immerwolf out, it limits what kinds of spells your opponent can cast (therefore limiting their ability to cast 2 spells in a turn). Well worth 5 mana imo, and I use 2 just like you have there.

I haven't played with The sword (as I don't have one) but I like it in this deck with trample, I play far more casually so I threw in Master of the Wild Hunt and it is one hell of a fun card to play with wolf tokens.

Thank you for your very informative and constructive comment. I will take your advice and see how I can implement it to the deck. Cheers mate! ^^

Oh also Huntmaster is in the deck just I put this together on here before it was released so the card wasn't out yet. He was however listed in the desctiption.

Yes, Huntmaster of the Fells is a ridiculously good card, but he is ridiculously expensive moneywise. He is one of the (if not the absolute) best cards in DKA, and his price tag reflects that. I definitely can't (and dont really want to) put that much money in to a casual hobby. He is not necessary in a werewolf deck. Werewolves together kick butt, you dont expressly need Huntmaster.

But something i do think needs to be in here is Beast Within. There will be times Daybreak Ranger's ability won't cut it, and even more times when what you need to kill isnt a creature. This deck lacks any type of removal, and Beast Within is a nice catch-all, and that 3/3 beast token can be dispatched by a NIghtfall Predator.

This is my Werewolf Deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=299799. The sword is a great finisher, and it turns the tempo of the game up a few notches. Great card.

the magehunter is not that great for what you're aiming at here. for 4 you're getting a 2/3 body that at best deals 4 damage every once in a while... i ran him in my werewolf deck for a bit, but he just ended up being useless. id like to suggest furor of the bitten, its a great 1 drop red with this set, turns a 1/1 into a 3/3 then makes him better when he flips! (or she)

http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=301379 this is my deck, tell me what you think and let me know! its a great looking deck overall

I have just made changes to my deck based on how I've been playing it and on all the comments and feedback I've received. Thank you all for so many comments I'm flattered you all generally liked were I was going with that.

For any additional comments what do you think about the sideboard card selection as well as the deck itself? Any comments and feedback are always welcome.

Also I moved daybreak ranger to the sideboard as she's really there to fend of fliers the deck may have to deal with but I'd def main deck her if I knew the deck I was fighting had some troublesome fliers.

Hi. My boyfriend LOVES werewolf's, so i need this deck for his birthday. I tried putting it together for my self but the price got up to £109, and that is a bit more than i can pay. How can I get my claws around this deck?

Or do someone know of any other deck whit lots of werewolf's in it?

Hello Sally and thank you for the comment on my deck. Your boyfriend has good taste in enjoying werewolves. As a creature type they are fun to play and lore wise they are equally as interesting. As for your replicating this deck or another werewolf deck for him, what does your budget look like? If you can reply me that I can see what I can do about making a version of this deck that is within your budget. Also, do you know if he will want a sideboard as well?

Oh its my pleasure Sally. ^^ Heres the link to the deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/vandheer/decks/requested-werewolf-deck/ I'm not sure if your boyfriend uses this site or not... so for now you can only find the deck through the link I'm giving you in this reply. For now no one will be able to find the deck through searches and it can only be accessed through the link.

Along with the deck I included description for you of the prices along with suggestions and a section for how to play the deck. I did also include a sideboard with the deck but if your a casual player a side board doesn't matter too much. In competitive games you can only legally have 15 cards to swap out with cards in your deck in-between games. Over time it has gained the name of sideboard as it sits to the side doing nothing unless you choose to make use of it. In competitive magic it is helpful if you find yourself against a deck your deck is normally weak to.
