Deck discussion for Flock

Warden of Evos seems like a cool card at first but it doesn't do shit for you. Your highest costing bird is the one that reduces the cost of birds, your mana curve is low enough, the card is just taking up a slot. Take it out and put something better in its place. I have deck similar to this, check it out.

it allows for turn 3 acceleration, i need to play with the deck more to figure it out compleatly

turn 3 acceleration on a deck where everything costs 1 or 2 already with no card draw?

It's interesting with squadron hawk, though

That is what it is supposed to do, squad hawk, and you can get to them with Augury Owl

Just added curiosity in my flyer deck for card draw, works great.

that might help a lot with this deck, especial to help make good use of Warden of Evos Isle

You could always run Bident of Thassa instead, and then you won't be able to be 2-for-1ed.

BTW I don't like Mindshrieker. It doesn't add a lot to the deck without more of a mill subtheme. I think you'd be better off with something else that boosts power, or some counterspells or something. Maybe you should try and protect your creatures better. I don't know the best thing to run in its place, I just don't like it.

Hey I made a deck based off of this. I hope you don't mind; I was inspired by your combination of Favorable Winds, Squadron Hawk, and Pride of the Clouds. But I tried to make it competitive, and it got really ridiculous really quick. The synergy is DEFINITELY there. Complete with Zur, Lingering Souls, and Bitterblossom, I present:

I would really appreciate it if you could take a look!

I definitly will, as I plan to use this in modern, and what makes it even better is that it is very, very cheap. I just purchased this yesterday at card kingdom in seattle, WA, (great store, they have a website) for 25$, plus 4 bird tokens.

In response to your previous comment, mindshriker is there as a way to not only buff it up, but as control as well. Say somebody had an effect similar to Flamekin Harbringer. They get a card on top of their library, or scry, you can use that to eliminate that card that is on top of their library, if you haven't noticed, this has enough control to stop most ramp decks, mostly because it can't deal with those huge creatures very well.

Good deal on that price. Gotta love budget decks. But you know if you could find some Midnight Hauntings they'd be pretty great in here. Since you aren't running coat of arms or door to destinies you could branch out from birds, and those instant speed tokens are very fun

I'm not sure about what your budget for its supposed to be but maybe coat of arms or door to destinies?

0

to expensive, as in mana, I was even contemplating about taking gravitational shift out, but the deck works fine without coat of arms

0
Posted 17 February 2014 at 02:44

I'd personally do this:
-2 gravitational shift
-2 Jotun owl keeper
-3 mindshrieker
-1 curiosity
-1 land
+3 mana leak
+4 blade of the bloodchief (or +3 grafted wargear, +1 curiosity)

0

I would like to go more aggro. I'd even consider 4x blade and 4x wargear, then concentrate on making a budget version of cawblade.

I like this deck a lot. May I suggest Azorius charm? Nice universal card.
I'll probably try to build deck based on your concept. Hope you don't mind.

Haha wow talk about similar decks, yours is pretty much the creature heavy version of mine, I run some more control in mine than yours, but the gravitational shift and warden of evos isle is a nice touch to yours. Nice build

Thanks, I like Leyline of Sanctity, and when I built this i was trying to keep cost down, but I think path to exile would go nicely

Have you ever looked up the ability modular? it is such an interesting concept to grasp, and a very fun one to play, might look into it

That's funny you ask that, I love modular and actually have a modern legal deck built for it.

Honestly, I would switch the ordeal out with something else, simply because your creatures will be getting counters quickly and it will mostly become a 2 drop 3 damage spell, and if thats the case you might as well run lightning bolt instead. But personally I run volt charge, yes the 3 drop 3 damage is unappealing at first, but add onto that a +1+1 bump to all your creatures and it becomes a real powerhouse spell for 3

-Now that you have it installed, click the desktop icon, and hit deck builder
This will take you to a deck building page, just minimize this
-Now, go to MTG vault, and click on the deck you want
On the right side of the page under proxy there will be an export as .txt file
Click that and copy the stuff inside of it dont paste it anywhere yet, just copy it
-Re-open the deck editor, and go to the top right, there will be file, edit, tools, and help
Click on tools, look down, and click import from clipboard
-Now save the deck anywhere
-Restart the Playtable and click online play.
It will ask for a username, you can enter anything, and hit okay

0

Been playing since I was 10, first booster pack I bought was of core set 7, right before scourge and onslaught came out. and I still have a ton to learn, the game has a lot in it, and depending on the format, alot to take in to learn, modern and commander are my favorites as of now though

0

First time I played I played with my friends Elderazi deck, and somehow I ended up casting emrakul, and only later found out that I didn't know how good that card was, then I bought the deck with ghoultree in it, can't remember what set that was...

0
Posted 29 March 2014 at 06:21

ghoultree was in the innastrad block. and haha emrakul is ridiculous, best creature ever printed, emrakul and progenitus are the major beasts of this game. not to say ulamog and kozilek dont have their place

0
Posted 29 March 2014 at 06:23

True, I have always loved hydras, so when I found progenitus, I was like "I want one, maybe 2" and I have one sitting in front of me right now

Tooth and Nail, emrakul and Progenitus... love that combo

0
Posted 29 March 2014 at 06:26

I've played a game where emrakul came out 5 times and attacked 4 of those times before I lost. haha pretty sad I lost too with getting rid of him 4 times in a row, fun game though. and yea the tooth and nail progenitus emrakul drop is as mean as it gets, add in a blightsteel colossus just to kick them while theyre down

0
Posted 29 March 2014 at 06:33

how does that work? with annilator 6... wurmcoil engine with its deathtouch? Did you give the giant metal snake wings too?

0
Posted 29 March 2014 at 06:36

By previously genesis waving for 17 where 16 of those were permanents that came out. haha It was an angel/elf deck so I was blocking with 3 angels at once everytime to kill emrakul and regenerating them all with asceticism so they didn't die in the process. I just sac-ed all my lands first when he attacked and waited to sac my elves and angels for last but his deck literally brought him back out in various ways 4 more times after that, very annoying, but really fun game.
